So Tabby (our adopted stray) had her kittens tonight. I wasn't home, came home, and they were up in the boxspring in the spare room. We cut them out, and put away both the box spring and matress.

But I just need tips on getting through the first night.

We weren't expecting them for another week (hence not having any KMR, a weight scale, or putting away the bed) But they're here. And oh so cute.

There is one question. I see one has an umbilical cord still that's long. There's no placenta, and he's doing fine, drinking moms milk, etc. He's fine right?!

Yeah! I'm a worrier! :p

Mom had 6 kittens. I'll describe later, I want to get back to make sure mom's doing good. Seems like a lot of kittens, she's so tiny herself. I'll try to get some pictures, probably won't be the best. But I'll get some.

As for now, tips, advice, etc, would be VERY appreciated!

I didn't have the scale for almost a week, the KMR wasn't necessary, etc. Just let mommy do her job! Congrats!

I think he's fine- mom will probably clean it up for him later if she doesn't like it (when she's not so tired
). Congrats!

Thanks. As far as I know it's her first litter. She's still a kitten herself. Only 9 months old!

We only got her about 3 weeks ago (she was hanging around down by my work), and the vet said we had a month (but that was a rough estimate) until her kittens came.

As I said, I'm a worrier, so I'm just hoping everything goes alright. But worried it won't.

Thanks for all the reassurance!

This is the first picture I could get, I'll try to get more, but as you can see, our camera isn't the best (it's from koolaid :p)

Don't worry, mom hasn't been outside since we got her. She's an indoor cat now. Will only be let out once she's spayed and only on a leash.
I'm very cautious. My kitties are #1, can't have anything happen to them.
