I've seen a tornado or two in Kansas that were worse than any earthquake I've seen. Glad the earthquake wasn't too bad. Whereabouts is this now?

Eeekk! I'm glad to hear everyone's okay. They only earthquake I have ever experienced around here was a very mild one that awoke me from my sleep. It felt like someone was at the end of my bed shaking it. When I woke up the black light had turned on from the shake. It really freaked me out and I thought there was a ghost in my room.
It made me feel a lot better when I saw the news the next morning.

Oh gosh! I experienced a tremmor when I was a kid and I'll never forget that! I don't even like it when I feel my house shake now!

I did have a friend from California once tell me that riding your bike durring an earthquake is really cool! I'll just take her word for it!

I experienced an earthquake in college (yes, northwest Arkansas has earthquakes, some splinter fault off the New Madrid). I thought someone was under my bed playing a joke on me (I lived in the dorms, 3rd floor). I'm glas everyone's all right!

Oh I've been through pretty good ones 6.1, 6.7, and one that was bigger can't remember what it was.. My biggest fear is that it will happen to be a big one when I'm home alone
like the middle of the night my hubby works graveyard. Plus I can never figure out where the best place to be is upstairs or downstairs
Do I want to fall through the celing or have it fall on me if it's a big one. Plus the first one was like 3.8 and Dunkin didn't like it much, didn't bother the other 7, if its a big one though they won't be happy campers I bet...
I'm not really afraid of them it's just the longer they last the worse it it..

Earthquakes are one reason I don't think I'd like to live in California. I remember experiencing one on the East Coast as a kid, and now live in an "earthquake area", but we usually only get very "mild" ones; the last fairly big one was back in the late 70s. Aren't you supposed to go outside if one hits? That's one reason I keep the pet carrier handy.

If it's a small one, your reaction is usually, "Huh? Why did the windows and doors just slam shut?" I managed to sleep through the last one here, which actually caused some structural damage in our area. I did wonder why Jamie was sleeping on my head when I got up - that's something he hasn't done since he was little, because I discourage it (6 kilograms of cat on your head isn't comfortable).

My ex-husband slept through 3 of them. When he woke up after the 1st one, he thought the apartment had been ransacked.
Of course, he could sleep through me vacuuming right next to the bed.
