When I found my kitty, a lady that used to live in the country told me that she used to put butter on her stray cats feet, and it would make them forget where they have been. So I tried it on my kitten and it worked wonders! But later somebody told me that butter is not good for them. Can anybod tell me if this is true? So if it is I won't do it in the future, but if it isn't I know it's safe.

That is by far the strangest thing I have ever heard.
I would suspect it is an old wives tale. Butter in moderation is fine, but a lot of butter should be avoided, smearing their paws repeatedly would constitute a lot of butter

I only did it the once. And at the time since my kitten was basically skin and bones I thought the calories would be a plus.
