I give my husband and kids haircuts about once a month. Luckily they all like their hair buzzed so it is super easy to do. When my boys were younger they had the little boy hair cut where it was short in the back and then layered on top. I did that for a while until their dad talked them into just buzzing it all off short. I also do my daughters hair which is curly so it is not as easy to cut but she does not like it cut very often and I really only trim it because I don't want it to short. When my daughter's hair is wet then it comes about to the middle of her back but when it dries then it is shoulder length. She almost looks like Shirley Temple.

Anyways, my husband loves when I cut his hair and we have been doing it for about 7 years now. Only messed up their first time because he wanted it shorter then what I cut it. The only other time his hair was messed up was when he cut it himself and then he had to shave his head because he messed it up so bad.

I cut Lee's hair all the time. I have only messed it up a couple of times but he doesn't really care. He does get mad when I cut him with the clippers. Oops!

I got the top done, the middle,...then I changed sizes. Now mind you I asked him to set out the sizes he wants....so I snap that third one on and start off...and oh my gosh he's practically bald! I pretty much screamed and jumped away! I sort of fixed it so he really doesn't have to go 'back to basic' as in basic training bald! But it is defiantly short!

This has been my worst fear! See what I get thinkin I'm doing all good! At least his hair should be grown out by the time he starts his new position in a few weeks. I think I just wanna hide for now! I can tell he's a bit upset...if he's really mad at me he's hiding it well!

Is it later so I can laugh about it yet!?!
I used to work with a welding inspector who always said, "You're only two weeks away from a bad haricut." I'm sure hubby will be able to laugh, but if you show us pics we can laugh too.
I cut my own hair and never screw up... 99% of the time anyway. If hubby complains you can always tell him to learn on his own.

This is exactly why I won't let my mom cut my hair.

Whenever you're ready, you can laugh about it. I still feel kinda bad about mine, but he was very sweet.
lol yep i agree, Every girlfriend and now my wife , first time they cut it they made mistakes. For me it is real simple, since i was in my 20's i have shaved my head how hard is that??? hehe no big deal.. it will grow back or take in my case 5 min and fix it.

I used to cut the hair of half the guys on my floor when I still lived in the dorms. I'm actually pretty good at it, I can do real haircuts. I also do my own.

But, when I was nine, my sister came home from college and she was broke and she asked me to cut her hair. I cut a big chunk out of the back, not too bad, but I told her and she went and got my dad to "fix" it. That was the biggest mistake, he used his electric shaver and she ended up with chin-length hair. The chunk I cut out the shortest would still have been an okay length.

Never ask a nine-year-old to cut your hair unless you are a barbie doll.

Colin asked me to cut his once after a new lady at the barber shop butchered it!
It was hysterical- his has his hair usually done in a high and tight (marine cut) but i'm not quite sure what that lady did
....It looked like he had a brazilian bikini wax done on his head
I tried my hardest not to laugh the entire time i fixed it, but it was pretty funny
. I was able to salvage it and he let it grow back to normal and went back to the normal man who trims his hair.

dont feel too bad sweetie.. I did that once too... I was giving Adrian a shape-up... not taking anything off the top but just cleaning up the lines... and while I was doing the back of his head, around his neck, I took a little too much off and his hairline was really high up lol... he was so upset because he wears hats and the hairline is supposed to come down below the back of the hat and it barely did... I felt so bad but he was just like... 'well, I cant really blame you, I coulda went to get it cut..' ... it grew back fine... lol

Oh I don't think he'll go for that! I bet if I went near him with the camera he'd grab the back of his head and run away hollaring 'What are you doing!?!' in the same voice he uses with the cats are being naughty. (a silly not serious scolding voice...which is why they don't always listen maybe?)
