I just gave my husband the worst haircut ever! I've been doing them for about 3-4 months now. He still wears it kinda 'military style,' being short but a little longer on top, kinda blended. Well I'm standing there buzzin away thinking how he can tell people his wife cuts his hair if they should happen to ask where he goes.
I got the top done, the middle,...then I changed sizes. Now mind you I asked him to set out the sizes he wants....so I snap that third one on and start off...and oh my gosh he's practically bald! I pretty much screamed and jumped away! I sort of fixed it so he really doesn't have to go 'back to basic' as in basic training bald! But it is defiantly short!

This has been my worst fear! See what I get thinkin I'm doing all good! At least his hair should be grown out by the time he starts his new position in a few weeks. I think I just wanna hide for now! I can tell he's a bit upset...if he's really mad at me he's hiding it well!

Is it later so I can laugh about it yet!?!

Oh my gosh! I kinda did that to Trav a while back but it was the back of his hair so it wasn't TOO noticable. He got really upset though

I would let it grow out a 1/8" before laughing.
And hide all of the mirrors.

I cut my husband's hair once, and he had to use mascara, and eyeliner to thicken and fill in for a few days on some big booboos I made.

Fortunatley it is in the back of his head...I told him to just not turn his back to anyone. I'm gonna go tell him what your husband, Karen, had to do!
Thank God he's a redhead! The hair back there is kinda light. (He's kinda strawberry blond, but looks orange in lots of his pics.

Ladies...I think that there is a lesson to be learned here...
Send your husband to the barber shop.

I had a friend who cut a bald spot in the back of her husband's head, and started laughing! Pretty hard to cover THAT!

It will grow back. I'm impressed that you can do the military type cut. I can do buzz cuts, but nothing else. Course dh is rather thin on top, so high and tight is totally out of the question!

I think my husband has a hair phobia. Especially with his legs and arms. Some girl in highschool nicknamed him cheeto, cuz he's orangey red, especially on his legs. He was really into track and cross country so his legs were always out there...long orange haired legs! My poor hunny!

I think this happens at some point to every wife/girlfriend who has ever been asked to cut her boy's hair.

Whenever you're ready, you can laugh about it. I still feel kinda bad about mine, but he was very sweet.

Oh don't tempt him! He already tells people he's from Africa! (That's not meant to be a racial slur or anything! Most of our friends are different races. Just check out our wedding pics from Susie's thread! It just stems from the way some guy on the base used to joke with him.)

Now that would be a really bad haircut if I somehow managed to kill him! It wasn't fatal!
I'm almost ready to laugh now that I keep studying it. I should have taken a picture!

I cut Dh's hair once, he said he liked it, but has never let me do it again!
I used to trim up the back of my dads head all the time, because he was in the military and anal about his hair. I thought I was good at it, guess not!

My SO shaves his head in summer, and lets it grow back in fall and winter. He is just starting to need a haircut by the time he shaves it again. It works out well.
I trimmed his his chest length beard once, slipped and cut out a huge chunk. He ended up clean shaven for the first time since his Navy days. He was less that impressed by beard trimming skills.

I like the shaved head and the goatee he has now.
