with a 17 lb tabby curled up on my lap
he won't take no for an answer, either. if i ignore him (cos he wants to be on my lap ALL the time, and as much as i adore him, sometimes i'm just not in the mood for a kitty on my lap), he'll just sit at my chair and look up at me with huge eyes..give me the guilt trip, til i grab the chair cushion i'm sitting on and put it on top of my lap (so he doesn't slide off), and pat it and say "come on then", and he'll hop up and settle down with his nose in the crook of my elbow. if i dont let him up, he'll simply hop up on my desk, knocking things over and walking on my keyboard, to get to my lap. as you may have guessed, 9 times out of 10, he gets his way and ends up on my lap. he's on it right now, and i have to pee, and my left arm is falling asleep, but...he looks so cute

of course this begs the most perplexing question about cats - why do they want to be held when the human is in front of the computer? They generally are ignoring us, but put the computer in front and there they are.

I can't answer that question, I was just surrounded by two cats that were sound asleep a second ago!

Totally cute pic!

Yes there is. My 16 month old daughter likes to 1) turn off the powerstrip, 2)unplug the cable modem 3) pull the keyboard off the desk from behind. Honestly, I;d much rather have a cat in my lap while surfing the net than a 16month old at my feet!
