Do you check where your cat is before you leave the house?

Yes, I always do because Monkey always sees us off by the door and if she isn't by the door then I know that something is wrong...I also shut my bedroom door before we leave so I want to make sure she doesn't get caught in there.

Polly always has watched us as we left. She ***** her little head to the side as if to say. "Hey! What? Where?
"

I always say by, or be back soon.

Now that we have Roxie, she has started to do it too. They both are there in the living room sitting on their cute kitty butts. I say "See you later girls" and off I go. I miss them when i am at work though. It is really sad! lol

Polly is ALWAYS at the door when either of us get home. Roxie has yet to follow this behavior though.

Before I leave I always call Cody and Dolly, they both run to the room, they know the deal. And I kiss them both, and tell them to stay out of trouble, then shut the door.

When I get back home the first thing I do is go to my room, love on both of them, and let them out the room. Cody is always with me when I am home, in fact right now my baby boy is sitting on the back of the sofa behind me napping.

I do a "head count" at least twice a day, just to make sure everyone is around and okay. I usually do this at feeding time since it also lets me see that everyone is eating. I live in a studio apartment so it's always pretty easy to find everyone.

I do the headcount thing too - and I'm terrified that they will get stuck in the washing machine or dryer - so after they are loaded and the door is closed BUT before sticking powder in or turning on, I make sure that I know where each kitty is - which means that no kitty can have snuck into the machine surreptiously while I was loading it.

(OCD again).

I must always know where Sash is before I leave and give him a little kiss and tell him how much I love him. Sometimes he will chase me to the door as I'm leaving, he gets quite mad sometimes when mommy leaves. So then of course I must double check the door to make sure it's locked since he's right at the door. Will thinks I'm quite crazy as much as I must talk to Sash before we leave and make sure everything is set just perfect for him, temp okay, water okay, food okay, etc... Of course, as soon as I come home I pick him up and kiss him and hug him.

I always do kitty kisses and a head count. Especially since I accidently locked Luna on the porch thinking that everyone was inside then left to go to Davenport shopping for the day. Thankfully Honey came home from work a few hours later and found her, called me and told me about it. I almost fainted.
Now it's kitty kisses and a head count. If I can't find Luna, I make sure that Honey calls me and tells me that she's in the house and ok when he gets home.
Call me paranoid but I don't want anything to happen to them, even on the porches. I get so nervous since that one time. They are all indoor only so they only go on the enclosed porches, but still, you never know what could happen.

No, I really don't do kitty head counts! I have always seen all the cats in the morning before I leave for work. But I don't do a final head count. Three are indoor only, and seem to have no desire to go out. Will goes in and out, but on his schedule, not mine!

They tend to greet me when I get home, as does the dog. But I'm not the first person to come home...so they have already gotten some attention. If I don't see one of the kitties pretty quick, I'll ask the kids where they are. And Jazzy is in love with Garfield, so if you can find him, you WILL see her! LOL! She is like his own personal groupie!

I always make sure I know where cats are before I leave. Princess is always trying to escape and has succeeded a couple times. She can unlock deadbolt lock and open doors so I've had to "Princess proof" my house. I've put lift latches at the top of all the doors except the one I need to use to get in and out of myself. I put a security screen door on that and the locks are pretty hard to work. She hasn't figured out those locks yet. I was lucky because the first itme she unlocked a door when I was gone it lead into the garage so she couldn't get far. The last time she did it she open the door an let herself in the backyard and my dog, Snickers, came and got me and showed me where she was. I don't know if Snickers was worried about her or just want to her to get in trouble!!!
They loved to tattle on each other.

Definately, but most of the time she follows me to the door... where I tell her that Mommy loves her, and to be a good girl, and that I'll be home later. But if she doesn't follow me, I always look for her to say good bye, and to make sure she's ok. She has always been such a scavenger... always in everything, inspecting everthing, being nosy.... I check on her when I'm home too, if I haven't seen her in 30 mins or so, one time I couldn't find her, at the end of my search I whipped back the comforter on my bed, and there she was under the blanket, in between the pillows, and looked up with a yawn like "huh? what? were you looking for me?!"

Java does that, too - only she hides under one of my round decorator tables, hidden by the table cloth. took me awhile to find her the first couple of times!

Always!

I always feed Harley right before I leave, so I know where he's at - and Davidson is usually sleeping under the bed when I leave yet, but I still pull him out and kiss him goodbye and put him back where he as, and he falls back asleep

I always give Harley a hug and lots of kisses before I leave, telling him to watch Davidson and I'll be home in approximately 4 1/2 hours to feed him lunch

I do, but Trout is onto me...She hides on purpose just before I leave for work, just so I have to stay a few minutes longer to find her

I like how you said that.

I do not leave the house until Oliver and Tripod are accounted for.
