One of our 11 week old kittens has turned into a huge whinnier especially if one of us goes into the kitchen. She always has a lot of food in her dish but it's like it never fills her, we're using Kitten Chow. Anyone use any other brand that they find really helps to fill a kittens tummy?

Do you feed her wet food too? Is there a toy in the kitchen she wants to play with?

Kitten Chow is a low quality food. Its first five ingredients are:
Poultry by-product meal
Brewer's rice
Corn gluten meal
Soy flour
Animal fat
it also contains animal digest, which is something so gross you don't even wanna know. When it says animal it could be, and is, a mishmash of various carcasses.

Look for a food that contains a named meat, non by-product, as a first ingredient (such as Chicken, Beef, etc), and fewer grains. Cats do not need grains at all, and yet three of the five first ingredients are a grain. So, read some labels, and find one with fewer grains and better meat.

Label to nearly every cat food on the market are available through the company's web page.

Have you had your cat checked for worms?

If your cat has food in the dish and is following you around crying, chances are it's not "hungry". You're it's Mom. Do you give her lots of play time? Kittens are highly energetic and want to play a great deal. Dangly toys, things that that they can chase. Plus they desire the security of their Mom, which is you.

I'd have the cat checked for worms and than once that's ruled out or cured, pick up the pace with play time.

Also, regarding food. I don't feed my cats anything but a quality veterinarian food that I buy from my vet.

Kittens need to have food available 24/7 - they are growing and with all the energy spend playing and running around they need all the nurishment they can get.

Switching to high quality food might be a little more expensive but they also usually eat less since they are not only getting fillers but protein that satisfies their hunger and what their bodies craves.
