This just sucks, plain and simple!! They have to get rid of their "pets" due to a divorce!?

Neutered male about a year and half old. He is quiet. Gets along great with children, cats, and dogs. He LOVES to eat so needs to be on a "lite" cat food and can not be fed on "free choice". Impending divorce forces me to rehome some of our pets. Please help! Adoption fee is negotiable. $25

I just wonder why they cant keep them?? I mean really....

Perhaps the person has to move to an apartment and can't take the cats. I'd rather have that stated in the ad than the extremely personal matter of divorce.

The one that irks me is "we just got our dog/cat a few months ago and have discovered we don't have the time for him." (See it all the time in Petfinder classifieds.) That's something you should have thought about in advance!

Yeah! I just dont get people! It is just so unfortunate for the animals, I mean you would think one of them could keep the cats??!
And yes,I always see ads like "due to having a baby soon, yadda yadda..." or "he got bigger than we expected"
Just stupidity!

Under a stack of blueberry waffles.
The divorce cost/moving to somewhere where they don't allow pets/suddenly having to work more than one job to afford rent, mortgage payments, and utility bills (if the other person was the main breadwinner) immediately comes to mind. Hopefully the cats in question find excellent new homes.

I just hope it isn't an act of revenge. Like, that one of them loves the cats and the other one is rehoming them to be mean.

Gee, that's cynical.

Hope they get good homes! At least it's not a free-to-a-good-home ad.

I know people feel differently about animals but....
This is just my opinion....
My cats bring me so much love & joy, I can't even think of giving them to someone else. It would be like giving my kids to another family because I'm moving to an adult living community!
I could never do it!

In fact, as a little girl, we had a German Shepard and my mother turned down an apartment because they did not accept pets.. We found another place.
I guess that why I am the way I am about it. "Thanks Mom!"

Just my opinion.

I am the same way!! I feel like noone else could give my pets the love and stuff that *I* do! I always said if somethinghappened where I had to get rid of all my animals(or even a few) I would probly have them PTS, just because I am *that* picky!! I mean unless a family member took them, that would be alright. I am just weird like that....lol...
