How heavy should a kitty's breathing be?

Genevieve snores really loudly, but it's more of a really heavy breathing. As soon as she falls asleep she's snoring.

We can often hear her breathing when she's awake as well. She doesn't seem like she's "struggling" to breathe, but I've never known a cat to breathe that loudly!

She was at the vets recently for a check up, and they listened to her chest (we'd only just got her, so I didn't ask them to look for that specifically, was just part of the check up), and she passed with flying colours.

Should I worry at all, or do others have loud snorers as well?

I have and have had cats that snore loudly and breathe heavily. They've never had any problems either. Since you've already taken her to the vet I wouldn't worry. Unless she seems as though she's struggling I'd just keep an eye on her just in case and go on. She's just a loud breather. =) It is kind of funny though, you never expect a cat to snore! lol

Godiva snores! But I thought it was due to her smooshy face and buggy eyes...
It's still cute.

Her snoring can get so loud that it actually woke me up the other morning!! And she was sleeping at my feet - it's not as though she was near my head....
