Oh my gosh! I didnâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t realize it would be this hard letting go! The first of our babies just left with his new mommy.
I promised myself I wouldnâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t cry but here I am bawling my eyes out. Little Sammy is now “Spunky.†They checked out to be a really good family, a mom a teenage daughter and an older car named Hitler… they said his markings make him look like Hitler? The others are acting so sad right now they wonâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t even play. Is that a normal thing? I didnâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t think the mommaâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s boy would be the first to be picked up.
I am happy for him though, he will have a wonderful life in his new home.

Oh I feel for you! I am on my way to where you are. I have been sad for the last couple of days because I have people coming to choose kittens this weekend. I am only giving them to people I know personally, but it still is going to be so hard.

I wish I could answer your question about the littermates behavior, but this is my first time with kittens.

I understand where your coming from completely. My first litter is now 2 weeks old and im already wondering how im gonna let any of thee babies go. Like you I have arrangements with family and close friends to take them. That way i know they are gonna be cared for. I have also stipulated that if for any reason they cant keep kitty in the future then they must return them to me. I feel so protective over these babies.

Sending you lots of hugs...x x x x x x

"My" kittens also went to their homes yesterday. I was sad to see them go. It is hard. but you realize you are doing such a good thing for them. The way I look at it, these kittens (mom is stray/feral) probably would not have lived very long, and their lives would have been frightening. They both went to good homes, with people who will take care of them. I kept one and he seems to be adjusting fine, playing with our year old calico and visiting mom.
hang in there. you are doing a good thing and they will be fine!

It will be okay. As sad as it is to see them go, hearing of their exploits and seeing photos of them as they grow big and happy makes the sadness go away.

The kitty looking like Hitler made me think of this site someone showed me yesterday: http://www.catsthatlooklikehitler.com/
