Momma got spayed today, she wasnt pregnant, the vet said she is either in heat or its a false pregnancy.

Im keeping her there overnight to give her one nights rest away from the kittens, I'll got get her tomorow morning.

When I bring her back should I keep her spererated from the kittens for a day or two? Or keep them together? if I keep them together what happens if they try to nurse?

They say to keep them seperate for a few days but I know with Adina I couldn't keep those little ones from nursing on her. Is she nursing regularly? If she is it can be painful to keep them away to long. If she is only nursing once or twice a day, you can put her in a room by herself for a few days. If the little buggers are rough or fighting over nipples, they can break open her incision.

Under a stack of blueberry waffles.
Congrats.
A day or two's seperation wouldn't hurt, I think. Kittens pawing at/kneading on her fresh incision while trying to nurse wouldn't be the most comfortable feeling on earth and may put unnecessay stress on it.

So glad to hear that she wasn't pregnant!
all those Bengals running around would've been crazy with a capital C!! I agree with the others, that if the kits are still trying to nurse I'd keep them separated for a few days to allow Momma's incision to heal up a bit

Congrats Sydney on getting her spayed and the fact that she wasn't pregnant. We've had false pregnancies at our rescue as well.
