Ok I swear to you all that everytime I have been pregnant I knew about it before I ever thought I could be or took a pregnancy test. actually the reason with each pregnancy that I took a test is because my cat oddessey tells me that I am. (dont worry Im not crazy he doesnt talk he just starts acting different towards me) even the miscarages and he starts acting even more different before I go into labor. This cat and me are very close and he is the only cat that I have ever had that acts this way. We have other cats but he's the only one. have any of you had an experience with a cat or other animal or am I just nuts?

Congratulations on your pregnancy

As for a cat knowing? Who knows. Animals are very sensitive to smells and seem to have a sixth sense regarding health and impending disasters. So it's entirely possible that your kitty picks up on it early.

I have heard of some pets (dogs I think) being useful for epliletics because they can sense when a seizure is coming.

Yea my mom has always said she found out she was preg with me because their cat Zipper would constantly lay down on her belly and she didn't know why until she took a pregnancy test and found out she was expecting

It makes sense to me. Cats have keen senses of smell and when you're pregnant there are a lot of chemical changes in your body, which I would think would make you smell different. When I had my stroke last year, I didn't know at first what was going on and I was laying in bed thinking I just had a really bad migraine. Well, Nathan Cat kept climbing in bed with me and sniffing around my head, which is not really normal behavior for him. I think he must have known something was wrong up there. I saw something on T.V. recently that they are training dogs now to sniff out cancer in people.
