I have left Dori for a couple of nights on 3 seperate occasions with my mom coming over to the house twice a day to check on her. The first time she was mad at me when I got back, and she didn't really eat much while I was gone. I was worried sick about her and had to take her in to the vet. I used Feliway the next 2 times that I was gone, and when I got back she didn't have much of a reaction. It was like I never left at all. I was actual thankful for that reaction. It was much healthier for her to have not cared rather than to have spent the time stressed out missing me. Stress really can play a toll on cats
I will admit that I was hoping to receive a few extra snuggles when I got back... but ultimately it comes down to her being healthy and happy
I know that feeling exactly! The longest we were gone was 4 nights when we were in Atlanta. I couldn't get any sleep in the hotel room at night and I would lay there imagining that Dori was feeling deserted and thinking I was gone forever. I just wish she understood me when I sat her down before we left and explained to her that I was going to be gone for 4 nights.
