Does anyone have some good advice about protecting window screens in an apartment? I don't want to replace the screens everytime I move out of an apartment, and am looking for some sort of barrier I could put over the screens but that still allows air through. Any advice?

Oh and I'm new to the forum. How do you post photos of your cats?

Posting photos would be a topic covered in the forum how-tos thread, I'm not good at it myself.

Welcome to TCS!

You can put double sided tape on the screens for a while and then they'll learn that they're sticky and not lean against them or paw them.

Or you could buy those half-screens that fit in the window, open the window and put that it front of the real screen so that even if they do destroy them it is cheap to replace. They're sold in hardware stores and usually called "adjustable window screens" made for people without screens on their windows.

The window screens at hardware store are great...also have had luck with a baby gate inside the window(I didnt trust my screens to my cats nut runs...not the best look but it NEVER gave out) a determined cat could still paw screen through that tho. RJ

I'll try the half screens first and if worst comes to worst I will think about trying the baby gate. Thanks for the suggestions!
