Funny you should ask that. I just today got an email from Cat Age that gives weekly health and behavior tips for kitties:

Chin Spots

Switching from plastic bowls to scratch-resistant glass, metal, or ceramic can help keep your kitty acne-free.

The oils in cat food tend to cling to plastic bowls. This buildup can clog the hair follicles on your cat's chin, resulting in pimples that can become infected. You can clear up any blackheads -- the first sign of acne -- by wiping your cat's chin with hydrogen peroxide a few times a week. If the acne persists, have a vet check for other conditions. Thanks everybody for the good thoughts.......they truly truly truly mean so much.

I just brought Jerry home from the hospital, and naturally he's tired.........so I'm going to go get him settled.......the kitties are looking at him like, "Where've you been Poppa?"

That is wonderful news, go enjoy having him back home, and here's wishing him a speedy recovery. Tell the kitties they are now on nursing duty...they are to stay near him and get the healing vibes of their purrs going

Yes, Jerry is home and feeling so very much better. He's able to move his bowels again and I think just feels so much better. Now we just have to get Petals and I through our problems...............she goes back to the vet tonight and I go for bloodwork on Friday, my primary doc on Tuesday, then Thursday back to the gyno..........

Oh Susie, I'm so sorry for all that you've had to go through, I'm just now catching up... I'm glad to hear Jerry is home from the hospital and doing well. I'm sure Petals will be ok.... I think the peroxide is a good idea. And it might be good to give her a wipe down with it 1-2 times a week from now on, in case she's more prone to acne than TT&B.

I'm so sorry about your pap. That is horrible... I have had to "come back in" again at least 3 times, it is never fun. Hopefully it will just be some abnormal cells, and nothing to worry about. I will keep you guys in my thoughts and prayers.

Sending your family lots of good luck!
