I have a few questions about feeding my Gracie. She has had a hard life until she met us, and we have had a hard time getting her to eat. Right now we are feeding her Meow Mix dry and Whiskas Savory Pate. We had her on Royal Canine Baby Cat but she wouldn't eat it and we tried Nutro. I work at Petco so I know that this food is junk but she is losing so much weight and I need to get her to eat something. But now again she's losing weight and I don't know waht to do the vet said that she is fine. We had her checked for worms and that came back negative, so I'm at a loss for what to do. She's my first kitten and maybe I'm overeacting but I thought that I would ask ya'll for your advice.

If vet said shes at ok weight thats a good sign. It would be better for her to not be eating food with dye in it tho-have you tried her on any kitten formulas. How old is she, babycat is for kittens up to 4 months but my 11 week olds are starting to prefer the larger kibbles from roayal canin kitten and science diet kitten(they think wet food is fun to walk through tho

When you mean you had her checked did the VET run a thorough blood test and not just check for worms - if not it's definately needed!!!

In the meantime give her anything she'll eat - how about some boiled chicken, how about wet food -will she take wet food??

I agree with the blood panel... Does your Petco carry Solid gold?? If so try that slowly... as for immediate try the meow mix pouches they are decent quality

You could add goat's milk to her diet this will provide the fat needed to gain weight and is easily digestible. I would stay away from the "mass marketed" pet foods, they are filled full of nasty things and are palatable because they spray fat on it. Blah!

Finicky eaters usually do great on Wellness or Timberwolf.

She was doing real well on the royal canine baby cat but I think that is was because of the KMR, but then she just stopped eating it and then we tried just the dry and she would not even touch it. Then we tried nutro and she would not even touch that. The vet only did the stool no blood work. Well I guess that I'll call the vet and set up an appt. and see what he has to say.

In the meantime you might want to try some kitten glop.

INGREDIENTS:
==========
1 lg. can evaporated milk (not Milnot)
2 tbsp. plain yogurt (not diet)
2 tbsp. mayonnaise (real)
1 tbs. Karo Syrup (light)
1 pkg. Knox gelatin
1 egg yolk (beaten)
1 cup of liquid unflavored Pedialyte

INSTRUCTIONS:
=============
Mix milk, yogurt, mayonnaise and syrup together well.
Bring 1 cup water to boil and mix in Knox gelatin; set aside.
Mix egg yolk with small amount of milk mixture and beat well.
Add gelatin and water to milk mixture and beat well. Add in egg yolk mixture and beat well.
Pour into Ice Cube Trays and put into refridgerator. Pudding will last for two weeks covered in refrigerator.
Always warm pudding to room temperature (milk form) before feeding.
It is very rich in calcium, this pudding can be used as a supplement for kittens, sick cats and queens to put on weight. Several Veterinarians have approved this recipe as being balanced and nutritious.

I dont know about anyone else, but I have a cat with sensitive stomach, he either gets diarrhea or gas or constipation. I tried EVERYTHING!!! He seems to absolutely love the healthypetnet stuff both wet and dry. I give him a teaspoon of pumpkin every 3 days too.

I'm going to take her to the vet asap. I have to go to Alabama next week so it will have to be when I get back. I think that I going to try some of your suggestions until I get to vet. Thanks for all of your advice.
