A round of thank you's to everyone.. for your kindness, your advice, your concern and for just being wonderful pet owners..

I will TRY to not make this to long...

My cat Cynni is over a year old... well, we got Gizmo 3 weeks ago, and he was 9 weeks old, blue point siamese... and wow he came with health issues I would have never known had it not been for this site.

he had diareaha from day 1 , with blood and mucus...luckily because of post here, he was taken to the vet promptly and put on albon even thought the fecal test was neg.

after meds he was fine for about 4 days then the loose stools returned... what i found was, he is allergic to FISH... I try to not get wet foods with fish in the name, althought I know MANY wet foods contain some sort of fish or fish sauce... the less fish the better for me, keeps litter box smell down, I was feeding him something called Chicken doodle doo... NEVER realizing the first 2 ingrediants were TUNA and Tuna juice... chicken liver was like the 7th ingrediant... talk about false advertising... I stopped that food, and wham, no more loose stools...

next, i noticed tiny back dots on his chin and came here... to find feline acne.... from plastic bowls.... ran to walmart and got ceramic bowls, cleaned his chin a few times a day for a few days... it's gone. I never even knew cats could get acne til i found this sight...

Not only am I learning to be a better cat Mommy, I learned that some medications i can get online cheaper , without a vet visit... ie : eye ointment, tapeworm pills, pro-biotics.... WOW

My husband thinks I am nuts because I am on here all day reading, but seeing how our cats health is improving so much,,, he's glad I found TCS.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Teri

P.S. I live in the middle of nowhere, and walmart is our main store within 40 miles... does anyone know where I can get Quality wet/dry food online for reasonable price? from the lists I see posted, I see our store only carries maxim < sp > but NOT kitten, and not wet! i can't find any wet kitten food at all. it's hard because my one cat is 15 months old, and the new baby is 11 weeks old.

I would be very careful about worming your cats without vet intervention. The dosage is measured based on the weight and health and age of the cat. Many medicines on the internet are not the same strength as what you would get from your vet.

I wonder if you can ask Wal Mart to order those for you - seeing that they're the only store around, they may be helpful in that regard. Especially since your cats are so young, you'll be a customer for a long time!

Or, you could try online...

yes, i am aware of the weight issues and such... my older cat is what her vet likes to call " a hunter" and has had tapeworm more times then i care to count... on and off all winter.. I know the segments, I see when they come, and have to call the vet, and lug her in. The weight/dose is clearly marked on the bottle... as is any kitten under 4 pounds only gets 1/2. This is what I know of Droncit 23mg, as it is the only pill the vet has ever used before for tapeworm.

I would never 'guesstimate" with my cats health.
