I think the reason my cat became violent was that I had some hair and cat smell from my man cat that lives with my mom back home. I had a family emergency and had to return home for the weekend. So not only was I not there while she was in pain and giving birth, but I came back smelling like a male cat! I think that may have set her over the edge! But her hormones had evened out and she seemes ok! Just make sure you are there for your kitty and you don't smell like other animals!!! Best of luck!!
