Hello from me and Anya

My husband and I adopted our kitten Anya a little over a week ago. I joined the site this week as well. We've both been cat owners before, but it has been quite some time so I'm sure we'll be on here often with questions and seeking advice.

Anya had the sniffles when we got her. I know they say never adopt a kitten that is sick, but she had already stolen our hearts. She's getting better now, although she's still a little sneezy and congested.

I'll try to paste my favorite photo of her below. My husband, Brian, was reading a graphic novel and she didn't like that his attention was going to it and not her. Also, just a pic of her being cute. See everyone in the forums!

Have went to the vet with Anya yet ?

Usually he will prescribe some antibiotics for it, it sounds like a URI (Upper Respiratoty Infection), a kitty cold. It's common in young cats that come from shelters or have lived with a lot of other cats.

She went to the vet the day after we got her, and we've been giving her antibiotics twice a day.

Good news! She's feeling better as of this morning. No more excessive eye or nose discharge. She seems to have her appetite back, and for the first time since the first night we got her she's interested in playing with us and her toys. We're so happy. We were worried there for a bit.
