I noticed at the library I volunteer at, that there are lots of mystery novels that have cats in them. They always have titles like, "The Cat that blah blah"
or something like that. Does anyone know why cats are always in mystery novels?

Maybe because the cat is a better detective? At least in Lillian Jackson Braun's books

It also attracts us crazy cat/pet folk to them.

Don't forget Rita Mae Brown's "Mrs. Murphy" myteries and the Joe Grey series.
