(dont ask cause i dont know hwere he got it from) Isis (older kitten) growels and hisses everytime yaya comes to say hello then isis runs away...the poor baby just wants to have some fun! When will Isis get over this and give her a chance??

The recommendation is to introduce cats and kittens slowly and over time so that they have had a chance to get acquanted:

I would follow the advice in the link above.

It took Bubbles about 2-2.5 days to stop hissing at Leela. She wasn't aggressive or anything she just didnt want the kitten to close. Of course Bubbles followed her around the entire time. My guess is that she wanted to know where she was a all times.

Leela was not fazed at all by the hissing. She would back off and find something else that caught her eye and try Bubbles again later.

I feel very lucky it only took those 2 days!

Yes they will get over it. Try this trick: sprinkle both cats (rub it in) with some cornstarch (not the talc) baby powder - that will make them smell the same.

Then let them alone. They will get to know each other over time - may take a week or so. Try getting them both to play with some string or feathers or give them treats together.

I know its young...whats even sadder is they let my husband adopt Isis when she was 4 weeks old. She was barely Walking around. They had told him she was 7 weeks. When we took her to the vet she said No way is this cat 7 weeks...im going to put her at 4 weeks and that is being optimistic. another downside is they do not pediatricly alter these cats before placing them!

Jaclyn...I thought they had just approved a bill requiring spaying/neutering of all animals by 6 months of age. In Virginia, shelters are not allowed to place kittens under 7/8 weeks of age. I can't imagine placing a 4 week old and stating it was 7 weeks. Below is a list that I could find of low cost clinics if you need them for later:

Kaite, im not sure what the laws are. Isis ( the kitten we got at aprox 4 weeks) came from the providence animal shelter on elbow st in providence ri. when she came home she actually vomitted up 4 two inch long worms....live worms that moved it was something out of a sci-fi horror movie!!! i was so disgustedi called my vets 911 line and got an appointment the following day... her belly was fully bloated with worms she had to go on medicine 1x a week for one month...and then another round of it. now Kinsey ( new kitten) came from the south kingstown rhode island animal shelter. on her adoption sheet it says she is between the age of 6.5-7.5 weeks...her and her 5 sisters were left at 3.5 weeks in a plastic bag near the ocean.( i hate people...cruel miserable people ) but Kinsey has already been wormed and had the appropriate treatment for her age...where as Isis did not... that shelter just wnatedto get her out of there i guess
