My Grandmother had surgery for that a few years ago. As long as I could remember, she was fussing bout not being able to eat this or that. Things are much better for her now. I hope all is going well with Jerry! The surgery may not be fun, but it might be worth it.

Hi guys. Thanks for all the encouraging stories of people that you've known who have had it done and are much better. The surgeon came in yesterday and said that they are going to first treat this with antibiotics and see if that clears up the inflammation/infection he had. That should take away the pain we hope. He wants him to come in for either a barium enema or a colonoscopy in a month or so JUST TO MAKE SURE that there is nothing else going on in there......(jerry is so thrilled to hear that)
It was a long day yesterday and of course I'm headed back there today.
I'll let you all know how he's feeling tonight. I always tell him about these threads and how you are all so supportive........all he asks is that I don't take a pic of him in his hospital dress (as he calls it) with his butt hanging out the back end!

I'm glad to hear that he's in good spirits Susie - big vibes that the antibiotics see off this infections and he will need no further treatment. YUCK!! for the colonoscopy - still that's in the future - let's just get him well and back home with you first

I wanted to eat so bad, I ate like boxes of jello, gallons of broth and never did get full, beside all the laxitive and enemas I hated all that, Glad to hear he's feeling better.

You have to get him to go to the ER? I'm suprised you have to urge him to go as he is an EMT, right? I am sending good vibes Jerry's way.

Ah, the ever popular hospital gown.
I know Jerry is tall as well as "husky". Did they have one long enough? (I know they make them larger as I discovered during my last stay - unlike 26 years ago.)
