I have that also and a redundant colon witch is just that my colon is very extra long, I won't be having the colonoscopy again because they can't get through that part because it loops real bad, I am one of those all the time constipated have been most of my life, when you have diverticulitis you just can't eat thing like nuts popcorn and such things that would stick in the pouches, Some times I wish i could do something because being constipated all the time you do not feel good at all, I tried that Zelnorm and it didn't work for me, The Dr told me when the diveviclar get infected you take antibotics, My father died from colon cancer so I have alway's worried about that. Hope he's ok, I am sure he will be. My sister was told she had colon cancer just this last year and what had prompted her to go is that she was constipated and all it was 1 small polyp, so they removed it, It's just a good thing he went and it will be ok. Good luck !!! I will keep him in my thoughts.

Adding more {{{prayers and vibes}}} that he makes a speedy recovery... and the same for HalfPint - i am so sorry that you all have to suffer like that. i've been told that the condition can be excruciating.

Oh Susie - I'm so sorry to hear that Jerry has to stay in. Let's hope it's just bed (and colon) rest for him while the infection is cured. I'll be sending the biggest "no surgery" vibes for Jerry. Please let him know that we're thinking of him.

Didn't you just tell all of us about your husband's vasectomy?

He is very proud of himself for going thru with the vasectomy. He tells strangers in stores, seriously. He has a great sense of humor as well, although might find some shame in having his toilet habits brought out to the world.

Vibes to Jerry! I hope he makes a speedy recovery!

Wow, that is very serious! I do have a friend who had diverticulitis who had to limit her diet for years. Finally she ate some popcorn, causing a severe problem. Since they operated and removed that problem area of her intestines, she can eat anything. It was a total cure.

So while he is facing a serious problem, there are solutions for it. I hope he is feeling better and can come home soon.
