two cats fighting

Hi, my name is jennifer.
I have two male cats that were friendly with each other, but now they are fighting a little bit.
What should I do?
Should I stop them when they fight, or let them figure out who is the boss.
They are neutered male cats, 2 years old.

As long as no blood is being shed they should be fine. It could be a alpha thing or they could have simply seen another cat outside and are taking it out on each other. My neighbors cat Hero comes and sits in my window sometimes and my cats will scream bloody murder and start growling and swatting at each other.

They bite each other on the neck so I think they are just trying to figure out who is the boss.
Also, there are no other cats- I live on the upper floor.
It's just that they were such good friends but now they are fighting. Should I buy a squirt gun and squirt them with water when they do it?

I don't think so...that will make them more upset.

I don't have any suggestions though because I've never dealt with this...Sorry...hopefully someone else will come along!
