Hey guys! I have a friend that's asked the below question of me, and I just didn't have an answer for her, as I have no experience in the matter...so I thought I would post it here to see if any of you had experience in it, and could lend me your advice to lend her.

Here's her question:

"hello, my question is about what can be the best way to help my
puppy(she is 3 months old) and my cat (he is 5 years old) to get along.
My cat is my mom´s baby, he was the king of the house to say the least, but we all spoiled him very much. He has his character he was never to playfull but more conceited, but lovable too.
When the puppy arrived a month ago, we were a little concerned, but it seemed to be ok, the cat
approached to her when she was asleep and sniffed her. Then they both take a
naps not close but together in my mom´s bed. So as I said it seemed to be alright. But now the puppy has
grown a little (is a cocker spaniel), she´s really sad when the cat leaves the house, she wants to play
with him and he doesn´t like that, so he left for two days, and didn´t
return to eat or sleep like he normally does, he´s very active but he
likes to have its space and my dog wants so badly his attention.
I want to know what should I do to help them both to not feel left
behind and to get along better without any complication.
Thank you very much."

So, any advice any of you can lend?

Thanks!!
