Hey every one, this Monday (June 26th) I got my kitten Roper. I was in another city with 2 of my friends at the Wind Arena practicing TeamRoping and Tracking cows from 6pm-11pm
At 11pm it was over and we stopped at the Gas Station before returning to our city. That's were I found Roper, sitting in the middle of one of the Gas Fill Ups, eating a bug...or atleast trying to. The type of city we are in is not a good one, lots of crime and animal abuse cases. Strays are every where. Roper was hungry and dehydrated, his paws and tail are scuffed up. I half expected him to run away when I went to pick him up but he didnt.
I took him in my arms and went into the Gas Station Store to get a bottle of water.
He is such a sweet little kitten. Very Loving, loves attention and loves to be held and played with. When I got to my house I put him in the bathroom, made him a bed and a litter box. Got him some food and water. I spent the rest of the night with him in the bathroom and I didnt get any sleep.
Roper was good, he was purring like crazy and cuddling up next to me.
At 1pm he used the litter box, then again at 5:30pm then at 7pm.
At 8pm he pooped out a grasshopper. Once the cat food had time to digest his poop was normal. He is just a gem.
Tuesday he was playful but I mainly wanted him to catch up on all his sleep.
Wednesday I wanted to prep him for his bath so I filled the sink with 2 inches of warm water, put a handcloth in there with his food. He stood in it and ate.
Today I went out and bought Kitten food because he needs to eat that for 1 year. The Cat food came from my other Cat who is 12 y/o and people always think that he is 4 y/o he is such a ham. Simba didnt like Roper and he was mad at me, he has been hissing up a storm but this evening he stopped hissing. I think his hissy fit is about over.
I bathed Roper today with Vanilla Conditioner for pets.
He was calm and just sat there the whole time. Now he is clean, soft and smells wonderful.
I need to make the runs to walmart or petsmart and get him a litter box. My older cat Simba has his own litter box and it needs to stay that way. We also need some more toys. Right now he has 2 peacock feathers and a fuzzy cat ball.

He's a spoiled indoor kitty now. Anough chit chat, heres some pictures.

He's so adorable!
I'm sure he'll grow up to be a handsome cat. That is very nice of you to rescue him, especially with the city's animal abuse cases! A beautiful boy like Roper shouldn't be abused, or any animal for that case.

Welcome to TCS!
You'll get addicted soon!

This is just the cutest, happiest little story. When I have rescued animals in the past I love to just watch them after I have cleaned them up and got them fed. It makes me feel good to think about what they're thinking. I bet he is soo happy going from the cold, lonely, scary streets to being happy and warm and cozy with a full tummy inside a safe, happy home.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone
I just got off work and came home, Roper was sleeping but when he heard me come towards the door he started stretching, I made my lunch since its 12pm...he loves to help me make lunch lol One time he almost stole the whole sandwhich.

Roper has a Vet Appointment at 3pm to make sure he is in good health which I think he is. Were getting him wormed, shots, and an overall check up.

Right now the silly boy is playing, rolling over on the carpet. Gotta love the little squirt.

Could someone explain the different levels of member ship? At another forum I attend reg. it is just Junior Member... then Full Member, once you are a Full Member you get a Avatar and then there is Senior Member. Here I have been reading different feline titles and was wondering what all the different levels were. Thanks.
