She will be getting a blood test to make sure she is healthy. After that, she will finally get to meet the rest of the family(the other 4 cats). Yesterday, I put the residents away and let Veruca come check out the house. She made herself at home! One of my cats, Sera, was crying behind a closed door, so I opened it a crack to let them look at each other. Veruca hissed and growled a little, but Sera just stared at Veruca. Then Veruca just laid down on the floor outside the door and started to fall asleep. Is that a good sign that she won't be too aggressive? I figure I will introduce her to 1 resident cat at a time. Is that good idea?

That isn't a bad idea but I would do it the other way around and put the new cat in a smaller room and leave the resident cats out. Maybe you can put a baby gate between the two so they can see and smell and get close to each other but not interact just yet. It sounds like Veruca will be fine, but maybe your cats are a little hesitant to have an intruder in their home. Buy some Feliway (actually I think you mentioned in the other thread that you did right?) you may be able to find them cheaper on eBay.

Remember, expect growling and hissing and some "fighting" to figure out alpha cat status. As long as there is no bloodshed they are fine and need to work things out for themselves.

Yeah! Veruca is Fel Luk and Aids negative!

I've essentially been letting my cats sniff through the door of the room she is in. They lost interest in doing that after a few days. (She's been here alomost a month) I think all of my cats will be fine with her except Dot, who is the youngest and made herself the alpha-cat when she came here a year ago. I bought two Feliway diffusers. I would need 6 to cover the whole house, but I'll see what happens first. I do believe they work! Veruca did NOT want to get in the carrier today, so I rubbed some of the oil on the carrier and coazed her in with a treat. She just relaxed and was content through the whole vet visit!
