My mom's cat is sucking her own nipples....

My mom's cat Roxy is a one year old moggie calico that mom found as a tiny kitten. We are well aware that she was taken away from her mother too early as she was super tiny when my mom found her and took her in. Problem is, for the past few months, Roxy has taken to nursing on herself!! She lays over (as only cats can do) and nurses the first nipple she can get ahold of. Its gotten to the point where she dosen't have any hair around her nipples, just like a momma cat who is nursing kittens looks. She's spayed, vet-checked and perfectly healthy. Can anyone give my mom any insight on this, and possibly some ways to curb the behavior?? Thanks!

No offense intended. I don't know what to say, but what a flexible cat.

My cat does that... except she does it wth the end of her tail. It's totally bizarre and she won't stop. I figure that if it makes her happy, I'll just let her be weird.

i dunno if this will work but maybe you can try putting some bitter apple on her belly. I know it works well for when they are over grooming certain areas. Its worth a try anyways.

thanks you guys! I thought about the bitter apple spray, but I was hesitant to tell mom to use it b/c I wasn't sure if it would irritate the skin.
