Would you go on this vacation?

One of the local lighthouses is offering" Lighthouse Keeper" vacations, where you assume the duties of the Lighthouse Keeper for the week.

I think it would be really interesting to do for a day or so, but I can't picture myself doing this for a whole week.

I don't think so. I just want to lay on the beach and eat on my vacations!

Same here!

Maybe for a day but then it would feel like work!!

Does it have an elevator to get to the top of the light house?

On vacation I want to wake up on my own, crawl down to the beach, where the bar opens early, and you don't even have to get up to get a drink!

I wouldn't - I'd keep expecting Pete's Dragon to show up!

Besides, what would be your liability if a boat crashed onto the rocks on your watch?

I would do it in a heartbeat Yankee magazine,a while ago, had an article on this lighthouse & a couple who goes there every year for their vacation!

I'm with you, Karen. No question it would be interesting, but I don't take a vacation to take on someone else's responsibilities -- especially in a situation where the potential exists for emergencies -- maybe not a frequent occurrence, but sure as God made little apples it would happen on my watch!
