Thank you for the compliment on Star. She is my little baby girl. I love her so much. She has been lviing with us for quite a while but still has a hump she needs to climb. I try and try.......

And nah........too small to be a moutain lion.... It "might" be a bobcat......Or it could be one crafty stray/feral that we have never seen.........

But if is a stray/feral regular kitty variety it is a big one. The food is about 2' from the entrance of the tent so it has a long body.... It's gone this morning...... I haven't checked the food yet. I'll go check and repost.

And it could be a hybrid ......... It is just hard to say.. A friend of mine I work with has a hybrid bobcat and domicated version. Named Jezz. I have tried to see her but she will only stand in the dark while I look at her. She is very large as well..... Has the tuffs as well.... but a white chest. Very solitary.

Half the food was gone. And the water was frozen. So I redid the water and added more food. And as usual the food bowl was pulled out.......

It is bitterly cold....... I did not raise the flap to look inside. If something is in there I want it to stay warm. I just quietly did what I had to do.

I'm a-ok...........

And here's Jimmy today..... I have the cat door locked much to the dismay of the critters. It is too cold in my opinion to go outside. I had to go outside and carry Felix and Tulip inside... Felix's ear were freezing. Jimmy stayed in doors. In fact, that little booger, knocked all my towels down and rearranged the few remaining pillow cases on the shelves to suit him....... hehehehe I guess he like the way pillow cases feel when he lays on them.

When I go to the restroom and walk past him, I keep my head down and my eyes down and he does not run. He has evidently claimed this shelf. I have seen him on it quite ofter and dont' mind him laying there. It has no door yet but this is the first time he knocked everything off the shelf........ I like the fact he is nesting....

I will be glad when winter is over so the cats can enjoy the great outdoors. The addition to the enclosure will be finished by then..... They will have plenty of room in a natural environment to play......

I don't have anything any more. Wah...........!! Kitties merely tolerate the humans and their whims......... If we get in the way, they scooch us over.... including our things. Making the house catproof has meant giving up everything....... except for bare essentials......... I am so used to walking with my head down and eyes averted that people think I am some mentally deficient person!!! I am becoming a submissive feral human....... Oh lord.....hep me hep me..........

hehe.......

ps.. I'll tell Jimmy you like HIS linens. .....

I just don't have the heart to move him......... He looks entirely too comfortable. I watched him awhile awake, then he just nodded off to sleep with me standing there....... He's tired...... a tired little kitty man. I bought 18 balls not too long ago......large ones and he was playing earlier in the bedroom with one of the white ones..... Now he needs his nap.....

Look at this link. I have been readin g about foxes and these are the smallest foxes in the world.......... Cutest little things I ever saw....

I don't blame you, if it is a bobcat feeding it is better than letting him get any ideas about your other cats.
I imagine a bobcat would eat more than that, but then again maybe he's just coming to you for a snack!

Aww, those foxes are adorable...at least you know for sure that it's not one of those eating on your porch.

I took a pic and outlined it in red. Look close at the pic and then look at the tent pic above and you can pick out the shape. I took this through the door so as not to spook it. It is a cat of some sort. This is the back of the animal. It is brownish..... at least that's how it looked through the door. It has to be fairly large because it's rear is out of the tent while it is eating....

Wind chills are -5 tonight and it is snowing right now. Least the critter will have shelter... Hopefully the carpet and the sheep skin will keep it warm enough to not freeze.

I need to post one pic of my beautiful Star Kitty. She has come a long way too, but alas.........still doesn't like to be loved on.. Even after several years.
It sure does look like some kind of a cat, do you think it might be a hybrid of some kind?

Star is beautiful...of course I have a soft spot for torties...that's what are Annabelle is.
Annabelle is a cute little thing, even if she is a bit of an attuitude

Jimmy is adorable...I just want to pick him up and give him a big hug and kiss...although that probably wouldn't be such a good idea

And I want to rub his little ears and scratch his little belly.... and brush him......

BREAK THOUGH PROGRESS!!!!!!!!!

I am getting ready for work and I quickly walked toward the hallway and there was JImmy. He hissed but I squatted and held my hand out wating to get bit and he walked toward me and smelled my hand........ THREE TIMES!!!!

All the other cats were milling around so I quickly got some opened canned food, dipped my finger and held my hand out. He hissed and smelled and watched the other eat it..... several times...

He wants me, he wants me, he wants me!!!!!

But each time before coming forward, he hissed..........hehe....

He says......."I am giving in but am still fussing about it!!!"

pictures........ yikes, I'll going to be late for work this is so exciting.

And one more thing. Jimmy's personality is different in one moment. When I walk in the bedroom to get ready, he is standing in the door hissing and won't let me pass........hehehehehe

I have to talk to him so he will move aside. I am slightly afraid of stepping over him. but once in there I can squat and he is approaching me. Very slowly but approaching me.....

yes yes yes yes yes yes yes!!!!!!!!!!!!

The camera caused a reaction ... He hissed at it as it clicked... Doesn't like the camera AND smelling finger at the same time........gotta go.......but going with a huge huge smile!!!

In the top pic he is actually smelling mty finger....but I had the darn camera worng.

Well, I had some catching up to do. Before I even say anything about Jimmy - thanks for sharing all those wonderful pics!

And - that is definitely your hand NOT being bitten by Jimmy!

I knew he would do it...... But it happened so fast it shocked me.

I am at work so I might have to write this in segments depending on radio traffic.

First of all, today........... when I was sleeping, Juan was already at work, so I had snuggle time with Emma my lab. I patted the covers and she jumped on the bed and I covered her with my housecoat which she loves. Promply several cats jumped on the bed, found their spots and we all started snoozing. I woke with a cat snuggling down behind my knees. I am blind without my glasses so I vaguly raised up, saw Felix, reached out to pet him and he shrunk back from my hand. I patted him anyway and he settled back down and we all went back to sleep. I think that cat behind my knees was Jimmy. I remember thinking at the time that Felix was acting pretty weird but I was too drowsy to think hard on it......but I believe now after what Jimmy did later, that Jimmy was behind my knees.

When I got up, I went to computer to check my email. I made some coffee, piddled around the house and when I went to the back of the house, there sat Jimmy. Because his mannerisms were so different, I thought he was Felix.. Seriously.. The main difference between them is Felix has a white leg on the right side. Jimmy has a white foot on the right side with a black leg. At a glance, that's what we look at.

Anyway, because Jimmy was acting so different like I said, I thought he was Felix. By different, I mean that he just stood in front of me friendly. Jimmy had never done that. So when I reached down to pet "Felix", he hissed at me and just stood there. When I really looked, I saw it was Jimmy and couldn't believe he was just standing there. I did a doubletake. He had a totally different look on his face. It absolutely shocked me!! Very very unusual behavior for Jimmy. So I quickly turned around and grabbed the little can of cat food that came in my litter, popped it open, dug my finger in and squatted down to "Jimmy". He instantly, with NO HESITATION walked up to me. I nearly fell over. He smelled my finger, backed off an inch and opened his mouth wide and HISSED.........damn.......

I just started grinning and did it again. and he did it again. smell, hiss, smell, hiss, smell, hiss....

You know, when Jimmy hisses, he has this black patch of skin on his gums.
Very unusual looking.....
I had to leave at 10:45 and I still had to take a shower. Naturally Jimmy decides to be friendly at 10:05... He has great timing. When I have to leave.....!

I took a quick shower and when I went to the bedroom, carrying my clothes, naked, there in the hall at the door stood Jimmy.........baring my way. He stood his ground and did not want me in HIS bedroom. When I tried to enter the bedroom, he hissed....... hehehehehehe. I said, "Jimmy, now let mama in".... I very slowly moved my shirt to and fro to get him to move WITHOUT SCARING HIM. He moved and I went in and got dressed while Jimmy stood 1/2 a foot from me watching with one paw raised.. Let me repeat, he stood 1/2 foot from me. I kept talking to hi while I dressed and he continued hissing each time I said something. He left his left foot raised in the air as if he might strike me with it, but he never did. I kept calm and continued what I was doing. When I finished, I stood up and he went and stood beside the dresser so he could still watch me. I brushed my hair and pinned it back and then sat in the floor and held my hands out. Jimmy walked up to me and smelled me and then hissed again with that cute little foot held up. I just kept smiling and talking quiet and his little foot would go back down and he stayed with me.

He mentally stayed with me and remained alert on a different level than he has ever shown.......He was really listening. Really really listening for the first time. He was commnicating and he has no fear of me. He was really hearing my voice and hearing what I was saying to him. Before... he would hear me, but he shyed from my voice. The tone did not matter. He could not hear my tone and did not care to understand my words as he was too afraid. What I said or how I said it made no difference.

This was absolutely different on all levels. Like I said, he was so different I mistook him for another cat. He stayed with me emotionally.. It was the most amazing experience.

Another interesting aspect of this........ Felix refuses to come in the house right now..... Remember me saying I had to go outside and carry him inside earlier?.... Jimmy and Felix have had some sort of falling out I think.... Some dominance issue.. I think Jimmy, the big handsome guy, will win out. Felix thinks he is dominate but Festus has the goods on him. And Jimmy has the good on Festus. Toe and Yellow could care less which male is dominate. They just want loving. And JJ is the same also.. If he get loving he doesn't care. but Festus, felix and jimmy were all out there as ferals...... They are different, but Jimmy, my sweet Jimmy, is top dog.

Also, when all this was going on.......every single cat and all the dogs were all gathered around me and Jimmy like they were encouraging him. All the dogs and the cats were eating from my fingers.. Jimmy was in the middle of it all.... We were a group and we were bonding together. They know Jimmy is different and they accept him as do I. He accepts them. I am his only obstacle....... He is nearly over the top........

Oh yeah.........

Wow, I had some catching up to do here. Jenn, I love the latest pics of Jimmy with "his" linens and sniffing your finger. What a handsome guy he is!

And, it really sounds like he's right on the verge of giving in and accepting some loving. Keep it up, Jenn! You're working wonders with Jimmy!
