I lOVE country music. And I'm familiar with the song. I'll find the words for you...hold on

On an icy road one night
A young man loses his life
They marked the shoulder with a cross
An' his family gathers round
On a piece of Hallowed ground
Their hearts are heavy with their loss
As the tears fall from their eyes
There's one who'll always sympathise.

God only cries for the living
'Cause it's the living that are left to carry on
An' all the angels up in Heaven
They're not grieving because they're gone
There's a smile on their faces
'Cause they're in a better place than, mmm, baby, than, oh
God only cries for the living
'Cause it's the living that are so far from home.

It still makes me sad
When I think of my Grand-dad
I miss him each and every day
But I know the time will come
When my own gradnson
Wonders why I went away
Maybe we're not meant to understand
Till we meet up in the Promised Land.

God only cries for the living
'Cause it's the living that are left to carry on
And all the angels up in Heaven
They're not grieving because they're gone
There's a smile on their faces
'Cause they're in a better place than, oh, baby, than oh
God only cries for the living
'Cause it's the living that are so far from home
Yeah, we're so far from home, Mmmm, Mmmm

I'm good with finding things online...lyrics included...so anytime you need to find something just let me know. I found the "Do I Make you Proud" lyrics from the American Idol song sung by Taylor Hicks for DH the day after he sang it.

Nuh uh...might give me away!
I am a fan of music in general but I will admit that I like country music (why are so many people ashamed to admit that??)

In April, my mom, grandma and I went to see Faith Hill and Tim McGraw in concert! It was soooo good and you could feel the chemistry between them even from far away.

The first time I saw Tim McGraw in concert was on my 12th birthday. He came out on stage, sang a few songs then asked where Jade was, cuz he wanted to wish her a Happy 12th Birthday! I about DIED!!
My mom and grandma had sent a note to his dressing room asking if he would. BEST Birthday EVER!

I like country, although for some reason it takes a backseat to other genres these days. I really like Tim McGraw though, he is kinda yummy

I really don't like country music....except Rascal Flatts!! I love them, I actually saw them last year in concert for my birthday and they were great. I listen to their cd everyday. And my husband sang a couple of their songs to me at our wedding, so I will always have a special place in my heart for them.

Country music is good for your heart. Too bad it has to go through your ears first!
Sorry... I had to...

That was funny!

I listen to all kinds of music, including country. You kind of have to around here
Kenny Chesney is my favorite.

We love some country music round here!

DH and I really like Gary Allen. Beautiful voice. There's a ton of songs I really like that's country.

I suppose I like the more "poppy" kind of country.

Miranda Lambert rocks my world. She's more poppy-country though.

rofl, I am a hardcore metal fan!! And I hate to say this will all the country fans here, but I wont allow modern country in my house or car! I do like oldschool country like, hank williams, kenny rogers, dolly, patsy, willie nelson, johnny cash, I LOVE loretta lynn, oak ridge boys etc. etc. I think I like classic county becuase my grandparents had an vintage stereo system(record, 8track player with radio). Prolly wasnt vintage to them but you know what I mean.

I remember liking country when I was little, I was a big reba fan, and I liked garth brooks and george strait lol. There is one song though that does bring tears in my eyes, my sister listens to country and made me listen to it.

The Little Girl By John Micheal Montgomery

Her parents never took the young girl to Church
Never spoke of His name
Never read her His word
Two non-believers walkin' lost in this world
Took their baby with them
What a sad little girl

Her Daddy drank all day and Mommy did drugs
Never wanted to play
Or give kisses and hugs
She'd watch the TV and sit there on the couch
While her Mom fell asleep
And her Daddy went out

And the drinking and the fighting
Just got worse every night
Behind their couch she'd be hiding
Oh, what a sad little life

And like it always does
The bad just got worse
With every slap and every curse
Until her Daddy in a drunk rage one night
Used a gun on her Mom
And then took his life

And some people from the city
Took the girl far away
To a new Mom and a new Dad
Kisses and hugs everyday

Her first day of Sunday school the teacher walked in
And a small little girl stared at a picture of Him
She said, "I know that Man up there on that cross
I don't know His name but I know He got off

Cause he was there in my old house
And held me close to His side
As I hid there behind our couch
The night that my parents died"
Reading the lyrics alone makes me tear up!
