An awesome opportunity...

Well as you all know I am being let go from my job in a couple weeks. I have put in applications online mostly because I have to still work to pay the bills until I get another job. Well today I went to a vet's office who is looking for clerical help. I was there for about an hour during the interview and was told it pays VERY highly and they could possibly put me through school while I work part time for them. This is SO AWESOME! I have always wanted to work for a vet or become a vet tech but never had the money for the schooling. I go tomorrow for a 2nd interview at 1:30pm. I am hoping the hours will be good seeing as we only have one vehicle and I have to pick up the kids before 6pm and my husband also. I know alot of vets office's stay open until 6-7 pm. Please send vibes that this will work out. I am so SYKED about this!

That position was open in my area a few days ago, for vet clerical assistant.

I've already got Clerical Assistant on my resume, so I called. But the position was already filled.

Thanks everyone! I am so nervous/excited that I don't know what to think. I want to get my hopes up considering less then 2 hours after I put the application in they called me but then again I'm scared the hours won't work out. My mother and I have always wanted me to get into something like this. Even if it is just doing clerical and no schooling. I love animals of all kinds and am probably nicer to animals then to humans I feel like this is a great chance to at least get my foot in the door but I don't want to get my hopes up just to have them disappointed.

If it's a clerical position, it may be a bit more flexible than it would be for a vet tech, or, as Gail said, you might be able to work out other arrangements, e.g., rides. Good luck!
