My cat likes to lick, lick & lick... Wonder if this is normal?

Hello everyone!

Ginger, our cat (& "oldest cat" in the family - he's 1+ yrs old) loves to groom & lick himself. His tail used to be bushier when he was still a kitten but it's become relatively thinner. What puzzles me is this:-

Ginger likes to lick Kitty (our 6mths old Bengal - a fairly recent addition to our family). He grooms & licks her like a mother, which is good but he does it so often... & he licks her privates too! (kitty likes it, mind U..) Sometimes, he tries to lick GIRLY (our norwegian forest) and her privates but she doesn't like it and tends to beat him away altho there are times when he proceeds to lick her long long hair.

Is this troubling?
Kitty will be de-sexed in a couple of weeks time...

I understand excessive grooming can be due to several reasons like early weaning and so on... But I'm just curious because the "love affair" between Kitty & Ginger sometimes goes beyond affection to appearing quite perverse!
I'm just concerned.. because sometimes, Kitty prefers to spend time with Ginger than with me... (this sounds crazy but shld I be jealous?)

Thanks.. looking forward to hear from U'all...

Well, its not normal - but as long as Kitty and Girly are big enough to bat him if it's bothering them, I wouldn't worry about it - what does your vet say?

We fostered a kitten who loved licking too - his sister, me, the bf - when we took him to the vet for his shots we asked her about it and she thought it was fine, til he started doing it to her! The whole time - the WHOLE time - including during the shots, he kept up this lick, lick, lick of our vet's hand or arm. She called it his 'fetish' in the end.

He got a forever home no problem though, the only one of our fosters to be homed (until we adopted the other two).

Oh, and don't be jealous. It's good to have friends.
