I am new to this entire moma cat thing. My "queen" had 7 kittens on the 24th. 6 have died. I am not sure why. They appeared to be malnourished and possibly suffocated.I hope I made the right decision by bringing the last kitten in. It is eating very well, and has a hearty appetite. The mama cat is only 7 months old herself. I was unaware of her pregnancy when my step daughter gave her to me. As for the kitten care I am giving my newest baby Jonah, (which means "to live") about 5-7 cc's of the kitten formula every 2-3 hours. It's bowel movements and urine look pretty good according to websites I have visited. I keep a bottle of warm water in it's nest, and it seems to be doing well. I mostly need advice from someone who has more experiance than myself. Raising newborn babies and newborn kittens are two completley diffrent circumstances.

Please get your queen spayed right away, it helps speed the mourning process for her. Also for so many to die, the female should not have another litter in her life.

www.kitten-rescue.com will help you with the rest

Welcome to TCS. It will be very important that you have the mom cat spayed so she doesn't get pregnant again. It will also be important to bring her indoors only until she is spayed as cats can become pregnant again as early as a week after giving birth.

There are lots of low cost clinics in Virginia:

The kitten rescue site that Hissy provided will help you to raise the remaining little one...but please also remember to 1. bring mom indoors and 2. have her spayed.
