At what age are cats generally full-grown?

I know this will vary between cats but, in general, at what age are cats usually full-grown? I have two...one is 14 months and looks full grown. The other is 12 months and is still quite small. I'm wondering if she's just going to be a small cat or if she's likely still growing. I'm mostly just curious.

It depends on the cat and their ancestory. Most domestic short-hairs are done growing at about a year. Some breeds or mixes, like Maine Coons and Ragdolls, aren't fully mature until they are 2 to 4 years old. How big are your kitty's paws? It's not a sure-fire indicator, but if your kitty has small paws, she may be done growing--bigger paws may mean she'll be a bigger cat. One of my boyfriend's cats is tiny--maybe 5 pounds.

Thanks for the response. She's a domestic short-hair. She's about 3/4 of the size that most adult cats are so it seems like she should still be growing but I'm not sure she actually is. I wonder if it's because she was taken away from her mother at 6 weeks old (poor little baby).

Depends on the cat. Pudge topped off at a year and a half, but some cats don't top off until age 3 or so.

I have a half ragdoll calico- she weighed 5 lbs at around -I can't remember now exactly, but she was still nursing-8 to 12 weeks. "Yea!" I thought, "She's gonna be big!". She had huge feet, too. Even the vet was amazed at her size and how far she seemed to have to go to grow into those feet! Know what I've got at 10 yrs old? A shortlegged, 8 lb calico cat with HUGE feet! She is a pretty cat though (weird as the day is long, but pretty... and she likes my 2 yr old)

All of mine were grown at about 1 yr.

My cat has huge paws and I asked the vet is that any indication as how big he'll be and he said no. We got him when he was 12 weeks old and weighed about 6 lbs now 6 months old...he weighs about 11 lbs when he streches his is 30 inches long paw to paw I think he is going to be a big boy!

Then my Loki should be midget - he has the littlest paws and weighs in at about 12 1/2 pounds.

Very good question. I've been wondering about Fez. He's only 14 weeks old and has pretty big feet too.
Shamie is 2 years old, really long and weighs 12 lbs. If I was to go with the feet size thing, I'd think Fez would be alot bigger than Shamie.
But since that isnt a for sure thing I guess I'll just have to wait a year or two.

I do have a question about his really long back legs. Do all kittens seem to have extra long back legs compaired to their front legs?

my dsh males tend to stop at 12 months-they might put on weight but bone wise nothing. my girls stop sooner then that-about 8 months. i have a 5 lb fully grown(shes 3yo) and the smallest cat ive ever seen-and thin. that ranges to my 30 something lb male whos abotu 9 yo. all are fixed-some when they were 5 months and some at a year..to the exstray who got fixed at 8yo(or older) RJ
