kitty licking my nose

Miko's new thing lately is to lick the tip of my nose when I pick her up after getting home.
If I try to steer her to my cheek, she still goes after the nose.

Is there any reason for this?
Do cats do this to each other?

My Ginger is a nose licker, too. I don't know why, but I think it's her way of showing me that she loves me. I'll never have to exfoliate my nose again.

You know, my old roommate's cat did this. I thought it was just her! She would lick, and sometimes, she'd do a little nibble, too. It was the funniest thing!

My cat is a nose licker too! Makes me crazy! He always wants to lick my nose at bedtime.. I usually blow on his face to get him to stop. It must be a sign of affection..

If I turn my head she then licks my cheek forever - at least it feels that way - but the nose seems to be *the spot* she prefers.

My 11-year old cat Spanky has done this all his life! My whole family has had to explain to visitors about his odd habit, because he does it to EVERYONE!! He cuddles and purrs and then goes for the nose! (and it has to be the nose). I never realized there were others out there like him. I'm the only one that let him do it....and yes...after awhile....IT HURTS. As you say, GingersMom---you never have to exfoliate your nose. . But talk about love! He is purring so hard...he is almost roaring!! I love him so.

I hear you! I've been trying to get Ginger to stop with the nose as her target, and can generally get her to lick my fingers instead, as my skin is too sensitive for her to lick anywhere else on my face, but for some reason, my nose is her MOST favorite spot to give me kisses!

when i stroke my cats fur my cat rubs her face against my mouth and i always feel her wet nose on my mouth, i hate when she does that.

Me too, I don't mind the nose licking (to much), but I don't like it when they want to push their noses against my mouth....cause it's always slobbery by that time. That's why I don't like dogs, because of their propensity for licking anything they can-yuuck!! Cause they are so wet!!

My husband lets our girl lick out the INSIDES of his nose! I wont even go that far, but he says it clears up any congestion. Ew!

I just don't like when she tries to put her tongue on my mouth, that's a little too gross for me.

Ha! My boy does this too! And he's relentless; I'll give him my hand to try to pacify him but one second later, he's back after my nose. And it HURTS! He's not gentle and he also gives it a nice painful nibble.

One of my kitties does the nose to my mouth. Usually when I'm sleeping. He comes up right in front of my face and sits and if I don't wake up he goes in for the sniff. If that doesn't work, then it's the paw to the nose.

Our girl just loves "grooming" us in general.... Hands, legs, nose - whatever is close!

My Gracie does the same thing. She also has to clean us before she will let us play or pet her. I love that little kitten so much.

my cat always does this... i think they all do... that's when they put their butt right in your face right?

If you are referring to the behind in the face....I love it! I just say that they are taking my picture. That's what I tell everyone else they do it to and tell them to "smile pretty!"
