I swear Momma looks pregnant. Her babies are 7 weeks old now. She has always looked thin except for later in her pregnancy, even after she seemed so skiiny. Untill about a week or two ago she started eating my other cats food but eats soooo much of it. She has gotten a lot bigger and her stomach feels weird when she lays down, like i can feel a lump.

But I have no idea how she could be pregnant. She is strictly indoor and has never gotten out. Her former mate was neutred about a month and a half ago, and we seperated them after the sugery. How long can sperm stay active? I swear i think its almost impossible she is pregnant, but I keep lookng at her and thinking she just might be.

I also have another question. Now that the kitten are 7 weeks, can I let Momma have free time away from them all night while we sleep? I keep dry food in the kitten room. Every morning when i wake up, I hear Momma growling and screaming at the kittens to get away, so im thinking she might like having the whole night to herself. I also let her out durng the day(not outside).

Sperm can remain active in a neutered male for a month after the neuter has occurred. Did you let your male and female interact prior to it being a month after his neuter??

At this stage, it is ok to let mom have time away from her kittens as long as she can get back to them. I wouldn't leave her out all night as the kittens will most likely miss her.
