My little SunLee was terrified when she arrived. She also came on a plane. For 2 days she hid from me. Now, she's the biggest love baby of all of my kitties. Give your beautiful new Bengal some time, he'll come around. You are a total stranger to him right now. His entire world has been uprooted, but I'll bet in about a weeks time, he'll be right at home with you, and wanting to play, and believe me, Bengals do love to play.

I think you should stop worrying

The little guy will be fine. He can probably pick up on your worrying as well! In a weeks time you'll wonder what you were worrying about

a little update: I think he went poo somewhere under the bed, because i think i can smell it. He's moved out from in the drawer, and is now next to it, he was just sitting there mewoing and staring at me for a little bit, and now he's starting to get sleepy. I want to go clean the poo, but everytime I start to move towards him he steps back, so idk if I should do it because I don't want to ruin the progess I made, if this is progress at all.

You really, really need to make a post in the behavior forum! Your kitten is terrified...he was on an airplane, and is now in an environment that he is completely unfamiliar with. Don't be angry with him because he peed and poo'd on the bed. Please post in the behavior forum where more people will see this and be able to help you and your new little one!

First I want to say congratulations on your aborable new kitten. IMO, judging by the way he looks in that first picture he is absolutely terrified out of his mind!!!!! Poor kitty!!!

I think he's really confused yet and is still too frightened to move around much to look for a litterbox. Perhaps you could place a litterbox in your room for a couple of days until the kitten feels more comfortable with his new surroundings. But don't put it near the kitten's food or water dishes. And PLEASE don't be upset with him!

Well he was crying ALL night long, I tried calming him down by talking to him...no dice. He's not in visible sight, but he's not crying, so I'll look for him in a couple of minutes. My breeder said I should take him into a mathroom, so that he'll learn to use his litter box better because it's in a small space, does this sound like a good thing to do?

Yes, putting him in a smaller space is a good idea. He is scared, and while it seems like a foreign concept to us, smaller spaces are actually comforting to cats. They have more control of their surroundings in a small space. And it will also help him to find the litterbox in a smaller space.

Also, I don't know what you did with the poo, but if you find any more, put it in the litterbox so his scent is in there. That will help him find it too.

Although his pics are cuter than the dickins, you need more help in the behavior department than just showing his pics. I'll move this to Behavior.

How are things going with the little guy now? Have you moved him to the bathroom? Is he eating yet?

Also make sure that you are relaxed when you go into see him. The more high strung you are, the more he may freak out.

Try playing some classical music in the room kitty is in. I agree, put the poo into the litterbox. Maybe you could cover the bed with a plastic tablecloth or shower curtain. I wonder if it smelled like you so he tried to mark it as his. I wouldn't worry to much as it is still early days. Is he eating and drinking?

I've never been good at Math, so I'm sure I wouldn't dedicate a whole room to it.
However, if its any help, we kept Chloe confined to a bathroom for the first day. Then on the second day we moved things to a larger bathroom and then finally let her explore the house on the third day. (except for the room that would be Jacks first home).

Jack came from Australia, and after a 20 hour flight, he was "raring" to go! When I came in the room, I'd find him hiding behind the bed, but as soon as I sat down, he'd be out for interaction. Good luck!

Well I've been playing mozart - moonlight sonata all day, and here's some updates

11:10 AM
I tried to lure Felix out with this awesome interactive toy, and it almost worked. He came out for a second, then went back in his hiding spot. After about 7 minutes of playing (I lifted up the matress and played and slipped the toy through that) I took the toy away, in hope that would only want to make him play more, which i'll resume soon. The he started to eat a little bit.

6:00 pm
We've made GREAT progress. This morning I decided I would lure him out with "Da bird" it almost worked, so I figured I'd give it a try later, after the world cup game, I fell asleep for a little bit, then decided to put tuna on the tip of my finger for him to eat off of. He ate it perfectly the first two times, when I did it again I used A LOT of tuna water so it soaked into my finger, after he ate the tuna, he licked my finger and then bit it (hopefully he didn't intentionally want to hurt me) and broke the skin, but that's okay. After that I brought "Da Bird" out and he started playing with it, I tried to lure him into the second litter box, he sniffed it, pawed at it, then went inside, and immediately went pee, I would have been jumping for joy, but that would've scared him. He played with the turbo scratcher for a couple of seconds, and now he's just chillin on my bed, meowing every couple of minutes, but I have some classical music playing, and he's just relaxing. When he plays with his toys, as soon as I stop whizzing it around, he goes back into hiding, I'm gonna leave the house for about 4 or so hours, so hopefully he doesn't go poo on my bed again. Hopefully this means good things.

This is great progress. Just keep at it. He's getting used to you and his new home. You may want to get some At Ease at Petsmart. It's a spray to use around your room that should cut down on some of his anxiety. I'm also glad that he is using his litter box. When I first got by 8-Bit we did introductions. I would pick him up and put him in the box for the first few days we had him.

He has yet to go poo, and I'm hoping he'll go in the litter box this time. I left my house yesterday and that's when he went on my bed, but now that he's introduced to the litter box, hopefully he'll use that.

Make sure to thoroughly wash your bed things as he might pee and poo again in the same spot if he can smell his markings there.

I'm glad to hear that he's making such progress. Luring him out with the tuna water and the toy are great ideas.

BTW, I think he bit your finger because he thought it was food.

haha yeah I thought so too. I put the comforter away, and washed the cover, I'm going to see if I can put those plastic table cloths on my bed just incase he wants to go on it again.
