It was time to start cooking those yummy, summertime foods.

We've got two whole racks of pork spare ribs which I marinated.
Half are now slow cooking in the crock (about 4 hours) in (semi)homemade sweet & spicy BBQ sauce and then they'll get grilled for 15 minutes.
That, plus a green salad is dinner for the whole weekend.

Tomorrow, I'll repeat with the other rack.

What summertime foods do you really look forward to?

Grilled ribeyes, grilled chicken using an old Fanny Farmers barbeque recipe, grilled homegrown zucchini, apple wood smoked pork roast (we have a smoker).

Yum-o.

Semi-homemade.
I take store bought sauce, and add to it.
Today it was 2 1/2 large bottles of Bulls-eye, 1/4 bottle A1 steak sauce,1/2 cup worcestershire sauce, 2 med. chopped onions, 2 tablespoons Hickory liq. smoke, 4 heaping tablespoons of minced garlic, 4 tablespoons jalapeno hot sauce, a dash of habanero sauce, and 3 tablespoons of honey.

Rich and yummy, with just enough kick to make your nose run.

I always look forward to the bbq type foods and watermelon and corn on the cob.

I also love camping. I've never had a smore though. I love roasting marshmellows, but not eating them.
