Hey guys!! I know it seems like I have been asking for alot lately, but this is something I really am asking for prayers please~yes, my 12 y/o boy might have to have his appendix out. We are awaiting some test results to find out for sure whats going on. Several months he has been complaining about pains in his tummy and he is constantly wanting Gas X or Immodium, to help with the pains. Today he woke up with some different/worse pains and on his right side. My mom took him to the hospital where she works(45 mi away) I am planning on going up there here soon-after I take my babysitting kids to their mama. I will come back as soon as I know anything, thanks guys!!

Your son is in my prayers hun, I'll bet it must be very frightening. Anothing thing to look at too, aside from the appendix issue which is obviously a pressing thing is IBS (irritable bowel syndrome). It gives my husband terrible discomfort and stomach pains as well as diarrhea and I'm sure if he knew I was sharing this online he might be a bit embarrassed. Which could be part of the pre-existing issue.

I truly hope that your son will be okay, keep us updated and posted.

I just talked to my mom and they had done bloodwork, but no results yet. They were taking him to do x-rays of his tummy, then she will call me back and let me know what they find.

I had my appendix out in emergency surgery at age 35 - what a surprise THAT was!

It is AMAZING how easily they do this surgery nowadays, and my scar is less than an inch long. It took about 4 weeks before I felt back to normal, but then again children heal more quickly than middle-aged women!

Good vibes headed your son's way - whatever happens, I'm sure he'll be just fine!

I had an emergency appendectomy when I was 17. I was only in the hospital for 23 hours, and had the tiniest incision. They used a laser and my two little scars are smaller than a pencil eraser. I know saying that probably doesn't make you feel any better, but I wanted to let you know that it isn't terribly painful, it's quick, and the healing is really fast. I hope he doesn't need surgery for it though, it is still no fun. You all will be in my prayers.

I hope you find out what's going on with your son and good health vibes {{{{{{{{HEALTHY}}}}}}}}}.

My younger sister had her appendix taken out when she was 5 (13 years ago) and she was in a lot of pain before the sergery, but she was much better after. She was in the hospital for 3 weeks, but was just fine. Now she's got a scare to brag about.

Well its been a long day, but everything has come back ok so far. The dr wants him to drink this fiber stuff every day, and see if that helps. He did say that it still could lead up to his appendix ruptering but thankfully it hasnt yet.
