I've got to cut their nails, but they move around so much I can only get one nail.

You guys have any pointers on how to hold the kitten with one hand and clip the nails with the other?

They are 7 weeks old and their nails are sooo sharp.

help!

Thanks!

I cheated and had someone else hold the kittens while I trimmed the claws. Had to use the mind control hold though (scruff) otherwise there was too much squirming.

Wrap them up in a blanket, a la "kitty burrito" style, or like you would swaddle a baby. Make sure all 4 paws are in the blanket- if one is free, the cat can get out. Then, "unwrap" one paw at a time, and clip the nails.

I also find it's easier when they're napping- even if they wake up, they're usually drowsy at first.

You should get in the habit of handling their paws and extracting their claws on a daily basis so they get used to people touching their paws & claws.

Good luck!

Thanks guys!

I just tried the "kitten burrito" but it didnt happen...lol...I did manage to get all front nails on one kitten but the back are harder.

I also tried holding the scruff but it wont work unless I get my boyfriend to help, which Ill have him do when he wakes up. In the meantime I'll keep trying.

Thanks!

You could try just cutting one nail at a time. Granted, you'd have to catch the same kitten twenty times; but it would get done... eventually.

Either that, or just wrap 'em in a towel. They'll be mad at you, though.
