Well Katie, I might be mad too that it was misdiagnosed, but I guess vet's are human and make mistakes too. Just so glad Simon will be ok...........

Here are some fresh vibes for Simon that his abscess goes away and he's here for many years to give you headbutts and purrs.

I just saw this thread and I'm glad it turned out to not be too serious - sending vibes anyway.

Yay! I'm so glad it's just an abscessed(sp?) tooth!

Now Simon, meowmy is feeling bad about this, so make sure to act like you are in horrendous pain & milk this for all it's worth!

No need to encourage him!!! he's already been crying in that wonderful Meezer baby cry and making me feel very guilty
he's been getting extra snuggles and wet food and treats already.... I can't imagine what its going to be like to sleep with out him next to me tonight

that is tricky word to spell isn't it???

Well I dropped off my baby to the vet last night, I was very proud, I didn't even sniffle
I bet he cries all night though, he hates being in a cage. I can call around 2 to see how he's doing, hopefully I can pick him up tonight

Your braver than I Katie! Good for you!
I bawled handing Petals over and all the way back to work last week!

I was afraid i was going too, but I held it in. I even wore his collar around my wrist all night
I think the kitties were confused as to why Meowmy was jingling too

That's really sweet. Let us know how it goes today!

Our Bobby had to stay overnight once - bf and I hardly slept. I had (v. minor) surgery myself that day - but all I could think about was getting to the vets to collect him and give him kitty cuddles.

We slept off our anesthetic together

What a great idea...to wear his collar! Hope today flies by for you, and Simon recovers quickly. Poor boy! I'm so glad you knew something was wrong and got it addressed. (Honestly I've had some teeth go bad, and even on me it was hard to know when it was time for the dentist. I kept thinking it would clear up on its own! LOL!)

Feel better soon, Simon. You will be on your way home before you know it!

just called the vet and Simon is doing great, they actually ended up not having to pull the tooth
just cleaned them really well and are going to load him up on anti-biotics! The bill should be a little easier to swallow now without the actual extraction
and I can pick him up tonight when I get home!!!!! I hope he's not too peeved at me
