we have been introducing 2 kittens to our cat and they seem to be getting along now. first our 5 y/o would hiss at them now she plays with them,,gives them baths too. we just got the mama cat who will be 1 y/o spayed. we try to keep the kids away cause they still try to nurse at 3 months old!!! dont want to hurt mama and her stitches. when we take kids away and separate them from mama she starts meowing and ripping up the carpet!! will she always be like this?

Not necessarily. Just be patient, maybe she is missing her babies.

I highly suggest buying a feliway plug in and spray for the exact areas she is scratching.

Also the big pet stores sell these rectangular hunks of cardboard for cats to scratch on. I have even seen declawed cats "scratch" on them.
