I can't seem to lose weight in my legs. I have the worst genetics ever!! My ankles are so big! I have been tiny my whole life until like 4 years ago when my metabolism crashed for some reason. I only gained 10 pounds but that is a lot for me. I am only 5'1" and I weigh 115 lbs. I know it doesn't seem like a bad weight, but it's all in my legs!! What's wrong with me???? It is soo hot outside and I can't even wear shorts or anything because I hate the way my legs look. I exercise and I don't over eat or anything...just all of the sudden my legs are storing fat. I feel so ugly.

Aw sweety, don't worry too much about it. I know how you feel, and it sucks to feel bad about your body. 115 lbs is so little though..I know what its like to have the most weight in your legs, I do to, and this year I just passed the 120 lbs mark myself
When you're used to a certain weight it feels like alot, but really it isn't.

As long as you are eating healthy and regularily exercising, then don't worry too much. I'm sure you're beautiful just the way you are

P.S. lunges and squats are great for legs

Rachel, I really feel for you! I am 5'2" & weigh in at 132 & am a size 8-10, because my waist is just so big!! I have been to 3 drs. & the consensus is that it is my kidneys.
And I have toothpick legs, so I too, decline to wear shorts (IMO, I resemble an avocado pit with toothpicks, like I'm trying to start an avocado tree or something).
I hope that you can consult a good dr. & find out if there is some reason that you have "stocked up". I know that when I visit TN & MI, my legs swell up, I guess from the heat index or something; also, they seem to use more salt than I do. Sounds like you may have some fluid retention, too.

Hunny I know how you feel completely. I'm 5'3" and weigh 234 lbs which is the most I've weighed ever, on top of that having issues with my now ex family....and just a series of stressors going on and a history of depression among other things, I am also having a hard time of it.

I hope that you find a way to cheer yourself up doll! Part of it could be heat...causes alot of fluid retention in legs....in anyone.

I'm right there with you all.

I have to loose between 175 and 195lbs to be in my weight range for my height. At least for me, I've never been skinny, so I don't know what I'm missing out on. I've started a program to help me loose the weight over 3 years time.

Don't feel bad about yourself, but don't give up and let yourself go, because negative self talk only makes it harder and worse to stay healthy.

I don't want to scare you, but have you had a medical checkup recently?
The reason I say this is because I had a friend who had a small build like you do. Suddenly, my friend's legs became larger and her ankles got very swollen. It turned out that her heart was being overworked due to an undignosed medical condition, and she was retaining water in her legs. BTW, my friends condition was treatable and she's in excellent health now. I hope this isn't the case for you, but I thought I'd mention it.

No, I haven't had a checkup recently. I am going to go to the doctor in a few weeks anyway and I will ask her then.

Good, I was thinking what Lorie D said. If its all in your legs, it could be a medical condition.

Oh, but if its not medical, don't worry. EVERYTHING goes straight to my butt and thighs. As good as it was, I'm regretting the slice of cheesecake I had last night.

in a pile of open toed shoes!
If I was 115lbs, I can honestly say I wouldn't care if I had big ankles... I'd just dress them up with fun shoes. My ankles and fingers are the only things small on me! I'd trade you in a second!!!
