Boys Aged 6 and 8 Walk into A Family's Yard and Beats their Puppy to Death

Do some people just think that humans are so much better than animals that teaching proper treatment of them to their children is unnecessary?

My heart just bleeds for everyone involved in this except the childrens' parents. I think there are probably much more significant problems in the home life of a six-year-old child who will beat a dog to death than just that the parents aren't teaching them how to be nice to animals.

That is terrible... Children who abuse animals often grow up to abuse people. If not for any other reason, that should make people take it more seriously.

I saw it on the news too, and it was very heartbreaking. They showed several pictures of this adorable puppy...and also showed the devestated family. The father of this family was actually crying.

IMO, there needs to be a very serious investagation into the types of homes these kids live in.

Yes, that is true. The poor puppy, and poor family. What a tragedy. But the kids who did it should definitely be investigated fully. That is NOT normal behavior, and I think it is a precursor to something worse!

This story has been all over the news here. It so horrible and so sad and it angers me that all they got was grounded. Its a known fact people who abuse, and kill animals..often go on to people.

When I was younger when had these really freaky neighbors and their kids were weird to say the least.

Well they had a puppy, and one of the boys had hedgeclippers. All I saw was blood and the next day the puppy was gone....no one ever said anything.

These kids were awful....their parents tolerated it. They bought them hedgehogs, which I would see them repeatedly dunking them in water...like I mean holding them a foot above the bucket and then dropping them. I kept wanting to call animal control but my folks wouldn't let me.

That poor little puppy. It just breaks my heart. How could there be such cruelty in a 6 year soul to do such a thing? I wish the punishment for animal cruelty and murdering an animal was the same as it would be, if it were a human. Those children are just plain evil, I'm sorry, but no one with a soul could do something like that to an innocent little baby like that precious puppy.

One more thing to add-and think about,why was such a tiny dog tied up outside?? I mean it couldnt even defend itself!! The owners should have really thought twice about tying it up.........

The family should sue for civil compensation, which generally tends to be much harsher than criminal persecution.

Exactly. I found this seriously odd....The boys were wrong and need to take responsibility but this is akin to leaving a tiny defenseless child alone in a yard and hope nothing will happen to them. Some of the responsibility lies on these people.

I gotta say, I'm torn between agreeing with you about those kids being plain evil and going with the bad parenting...maybe both. Its been said a gazillion times, but I need to repeat this anyways ~ people who abuse animals grow up to abuse people. Things like this cannot continue to go unpunished. The world needs to put a lot more value on the lives and welfare of animals.

Yes they do, but I dont think punishment is what they need. They need counseling and thier home life inspected. If it is truly something they did on thier own then they need HELP.
