Ashley that goes both ways. As much as I love my crew- they really don't snuggle with us. They will lay on our laps until they hear a truck backfire, the horses snort or fart, or something fall in the house. Then it is claws out- launching pad kitty shooting for the moon leaving shredded human flesh in its wake! Snuggling with a cat is not a concept here. I am always amazed at these abused ones- no matter what they suffer at the hand of man, they are always willing to trust you when they figure out that you are one of the good people. As much as she has been terrorized, now when I go into the room, she runs to me in her sideways crawl and demands I drop to the floor and snuggle with her.

All I can say is bless you, MA, for giving these beautiful cats a home.

Oh, what a sweetheart. It's amazing how loving they can be when they've suffered God-knows-what. Formerly Feral Elsa is just the sweetest cat. Loves chin skritches, and EVERY time I feed her she first "thanks" me by bonking my hand before eating!

Guinevere is wise. She has discerned quickly that MA is not like those other humans who hurt her. She's lovely, and a lucky girl that you came along when you did. As is Sinatra.

Oh MA, give Guinevere a kiss for me, will ya?? She is sound slike such a sweetie & to think there are people out there who would do such a thing to a cat.....

How many cats do you have now? I think the "inn" here is full & I only have the 5 inside(then again, the 8-12 outside keep my busy).

I will attempt to list them-

Cleo
Riley
Squirrel
Matuse
Oliver
Prowler
Tipster
Chaplain
Dash
Mercedes
Maverick
Rocky
Taylor
Everest
McKinley
Franklin
Sinatra
Guinevere

And I don't believe I missed one but I might have!

If over the years my posting here of all of these cats and kittens that have passed through my hands has at least started a glimmer within anyone to reach out and help the unfortunate strays and ferals in the world, then my thousands of posts here are well worth it.

I beg those of you who can to visit your local shelter or rescue group and adopt an older cat that most will pass over. Or a special needs kitty. Make room for the bundles of kittens that are arriving at the shelters daily and open your life and heart to the amazing journey of helping a cat that had a rough start in life

our limit here is 2 but when we do adopt a new kitty it surely will be an older one or special needs one. This place has taught me that.

Because of allergies one is my limit, but you have certainly given me a new admiration for people that rescue strays and ferals. I may not be able to help with the cats, but what I have starting doing since joining this site and learning more, is donate food, litter, etc to some of our local groups. It's a small way we can all help out.

I would LOVE to foster/adopt more kittens and cats. But currently I am still living on my parents money (don't take that a bad way, because I love my parents and am so lucky they are able to help me while I'm in school) and my dad doesn't even want me to get one more. I know because I have been trying to convince him to let me get Marlee a playmate for a while. But I hope that once I am out on my own I can make the time and money to help more beautiful kitties. This site is wonderful, and teaches me and everyone else so mcuh.

Good for you, MaryAnne! Does this mean some of your kittens found forever homes?

Guinevere's story is so sad! When I read your first post I wondered if she would be able to trust, but I see she has already been won over. Bless you for taking her in so she can live in peace and love.

MA, you are so wonderful for taking in these kitties. Guinevere's story has touched my heart. How can people be so cruel!?
She's going to be so much better off now, thanks to you...
