Stopped by the shelter today and after talking with the lovely ladies there, I have added two more cats to the home. Flame is a lovely 3 year old neutered flamepoint with blue eyes. Guinevere is a senior white spayed (recently) cat whose owner terrorized her. Her abuse included getting sprayed with BB's on a regular basis and either being kicked or being run over and having her pelvis break when she was a young cat. She was denied vet care,
so now she walks like a crab. Both cats are in their respective rooms and settling in well. Here are pics of the kittens first and then the other two. And now, my rescue hat is off because I am at my limit.

The brat cats

Guinivere

One minute she was growling at me, and the next she climbed into my lap. She has a nice soft bed upstairs, and a pet ramp if she wants to climb up on the shelves for a cool spot. She really is a love and deserves better than to grow old in a cage-

Oh, that poor beautiful white kitty. How old is she?

I think the brat kids look like Norwegian Forest kittens!

That just makes me want to cry hearing of Guinevere's torturous past! I just do not understand some people! Just like that little baby I rescued from the middle of a busy road the other day who had no other injuries other than abrasions all over his face.....it makes me wonder if someone had thrown him from a car and he rolled across the road. I think people like that should be jailed and tortured like the criminals they are.

Bless you for giving them a safe place.

I applaud you for rescuing them! It's so nice to know they will be safe and sound with you now and not stuck in a shelter!

He's a real love Pat, wants to be petted and will chase my hand until I do. Was hiding under the bed for about 10 minutes but is now out and lying on the windowsill.

I look forward to hearing more about him (and Guinivere too..poor girl, may she have a good number of happy years with you left in her life).

That poor girl....sometimes i wish i could have just 10 minutes alone with people that do that. I'm not a violent person...but i would repay the torture they did to Guinivere on them. I am so glad that she found you hissy, if anyone can make her old age a peaceful and happy time you can. I hope they all blend into the fold easily!

I am probably going to allow Guinivere to live upstairs only. With her history she doesn't need the stress of my crew jumping on her to play etc. She will have a nice two rooms to explore, cubbyholes and closets (we cut holes in the cupboards going upstairs so the cats can have a cool place to lay down in). They were old cupboards anyway
She will have her beds to lay in, food for her belly and visits as much as we can manage. But I think, given her history just letting her be by herself will be the best thing. There is no way she could ever get into the tunnels that lead to the enclosure, so best to make her the "upstairs queen."

You're going to have to keep us updated on Guinivere - I have developed a soft spot for her. A lot like the skinny 14 year old cat that no one at the shelter wanted because she'd not be with them for long. Tigger's still with us after almost 3 years! And she's the queen of the house! Go, girl!

Bless you! That was so sweet of you to take those 2 babies in
They both are gorgeous!! And that just broke my heart to see how Guinivere was treated.
But now she can live the rest of her life knowing she has so much love!!

Decided to name old blue eyes Sinatra. Somehow Flame just doesn't fit him. Guinevere climbed into my lap (I was stretched out on the floor) and she tried to get to my chest. But she has no momentum to push herself up and kept sliding.
I finally just scooped her backend up and we snuggled together for a good 15 minutes. Her back paw turns almost sideways, in a weird way she reminds me of those pathetic twisty cats.

How wonderful for both you and your new kitties. It made me smile thinking about Guinevere cuddling with you, I'm sure its been a while since she recieved so much individual attention and love.
