So I'm sitting here relaxing after doing a bit of housecleaning. I'm eating a yogurt, browsing around the TCS forums when I realize, eww, something around here smells like litterbox!
I look around thinking maybe one of the kitties just got done doing their business and has that eau d'kitty litter still clinging to them. But Nathan is about 10 feet away--too far to smell--and Nedicks is nowhere to be seen.
Then I realize.
It's ME that smells like litterbox!
The last thing I did when I was cleaning this afternoon was change out the litter and scrub the box and I guess the smell must have clung to me. Gross. I have to go shower...

What was that about the joy of cats?

I got a bath the other day after scooping litterboxes, and found a small clump of the clumping litter on the bottom of my foot AFTER jumping into the tub. Hopefully I didn't have "eau de litterbox" scent all day!

Ferne, try posting in the health forum. Also read the grooming forum, as there are lots of posts there about litterboxes and litter types!

in a pile of open toed shoes!
I use those litter pan liners... I think they help out alot with the smell... and I use 2 liners each time I fill the box with litter, cause sometimes she rips through the 1st liner while covering her business. Then none of the business actually gets in the box itself. This helps out with odors... but I still scour it once a week anyway...
I'm sure I didn't smell like a rose garden after cleaning the whole house last night and the litter box too!

I do plain baking soda on the bottom of the pan. and I use pine pellets so I dont have odor.

But when cheeto does his business..................you WILL need a gas mask!
and evacuate. I have to imediately go flush it down the toilet, it almost makes my gag, THAT smell does follow me around for a while lol.

But yes, I still love them all
