I heard this on the radio this morning, and wondered who you ladies would choose....

You have to pick 1 role model for your daughter. Which one would you choose?

Britney Spears or Paris Hilton

Why can't there be a "neither" option? Seriously. Or add the girl who won this year's Scripps Howard National Spelling Bee.

That would obviously be the better choice now wouldn't it?

I think that's why you have to choose 1. Because tweens & teens now are very exposed to these 2 girls being they are close to the biggest IT names in Hollywood....
really I think it's just the lesser of the 2 evils!

Yikes... I wouldn't want either one to even be my kitty's role model! (good thing my kitties don't know who they are)

Britney is the lesser of two evils though I'm not so sure I would want her to be it either!

Umm after the whole sex movie thing I guess it would have to be "'Bad mom Spears'" over "Ho Dog Hilton"

Good one Brandi....

That would be my choice, if I had to choose....

I would choose neither...I wouldn't want any child of mine emulating either of them.

I really don't see how either of them were worse than Madonna in the 80s.....

Plenty of people had Madonna as an idol and they turned out fine.

My daughter is 22, and on her MySpace page, she has "my Mom" listed as the person who is her hero.
Fortunately, I don't have to choose between those two vacuous blondes. If anything, they fall under the "what not to be like" category.

I don't know.....I really actually kinda like the vacuous blondes.

If I have to choose between vacuous blondes and blunettes who try to kill me, I would choose vacuous blondes everytime.

At least they are reasonably innocuous.

lol. I'm the only one who picked Paris. With those two being the only choices...I had to pick Paris. I do love Britney Spears, but Paris has it all. She's got fame, fortune, great looks, (obviously uses better birth control than Brit), has a great time all the time, & most of all, she's free spirited.

I do agree with you on this, I was a huge Madonna fan in the 80's... and I turned out ok. I didn't do anything crazy like wear pointy cone bras or lace fingerless gloves....ok, I did wear the lace gloves. You got me.
Although, Madonna was not 15 when she started with the promiscuous stuff....she was older. And she really wasn't being marketed to 12 year olds either. I think that makes a difference with parents. Did I like Madonna yeah, but I was still kinda protected from the reality of her personal life.

Thats really funny!

In all reality, I'd have to choose Britney Spears over Paris Hilton. Britney as achieved her success by her talent - singing. What has Paris done to deserve her 'status in fame?' Nothing - she was mearly born into the name and spotlight.

I'd choose Britney anyday. At least she's done something credible to deserve her fame!
At least my daughter would realize that you have to WORK for your success!
